This year saw him take on stages, flood the streets with new music, secure more assets, grow his family and fanbase, and connect with old and friends. He has a lot going on, even a love affair. Produced by Greedy Lion Records/Silver Bird Records/Vybz Kartel Muzik, Vybz Kartel presents an R&B love affair called, “Don’t Mess Up”. He taps into the R&B with a story of love that had strong beginnings, and endured some stumbles throughout. They may be on different paths at times, but Kartel knows she’s very special to him, and when they link up, it’s a moment in History. When the love is strong, two hearts will always connect. Vybz Kartel continues to build his post-Prison catalogue, and is still reeling off him collaboration with US R&B Artist Chris Brown for his recently-released “Brown” album. Jada Kingdom and Govana make great collaborations. Many first heard them on “Better Than That“, and more recently they scorched the scene with “Pull Over“. I do believe they should make a joint project, the fans would truly enjoy it. The argument could be made even more as Jada joins Govana on “Mi Seh (Remix)“.

Produced by Shakespeare, Jada Kingdom and Govana keep it raunchy on, “Mi Seh (Remix)”. The original track has been making its rounds since Govi premiered it a month ago, and with Jada’s feature, the track’s going to take over more spaces this summer. If you loved the energy they emitted on “Pull Over” and “Better Than That”, “Mi Seh (Remix)” will be your favourite. The weather may be a bit gloomy wherever you are, but this track will keep the temperatures toasty. Jada Kingdom is still working her “Just A Girl” EP, while Govana is working on expanding the “Bobby Lane Project“. He is currently holding one of the top spots on the recently-released “Hill & Gully Riddim“. What a way to start your week.

Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers out there. In this time of the year, many Mothers are honoured, loved, and remembered. Much love to the Mamas. For “Oldies Sunday“, we go back in time to share a tribute to the Mothers that had our backs. We check out Ranking Dread’s “My Mommy A The Nicest Mommy“.

Produced by Tad Dawkings Sr. and Jr., U. Brown, and Ranking Joe and released through Tad’s Records in 1982, Ranking Dread made a special dedication in “My Mommy A The Nicest Mommy”. The Deejay shared that despite her being a single Mother with no Father present, she ensured that he was raised with morals and values, and all the necessities to make a him a great Man in the world. From his childhood days to now an Adult, he dearly recalls moments with his Mother, and salutes her for doing the best could. If you can, make today special for Mom. Otherwise, make her days special as often as possible.

Capleton is a Man who doesn’t ask for much, just righteousness, equal justice for all, and blaze some fire on corruption. Nothing too crazy. His music continues to make dents in the culture, and get the people pumped up for the message he delivers. While he gets aggressive in his music, we advise not to get him riled up outside of that. Things won’t be pretty if that happens, and he’ll “Start It Up“.

Produced by Deki Records, Capleton is ready to handle any confrontation in, “Start It Up”. The “Fire Man” is locked and loaded, and if he’s not handling matters personally, his people will come through with force. Aside from the new single, Capleton is gearing up to release a new album in over a decade this month called, “Heights Of Fire“. The stage continues to call him, and you can expect him in more places this summer. Don’t get the “Fire Man” on his wrong side today.

On May 8 1970, the famed British group The Beatles released their final album, “Let It Be“. Beatlemania was a huge moment in music, and has influenced generations of Musicians and Artists. Consisting of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison, The Beatles connected with many worldwide, including Jamaica. Competition was brewing on the Island as well, as there were Artists who believed they could take The Beatles’ place including The Zodiacs, who were once propelled to be a threat to the group in the media. Today, the music is still respected, and tributes from some of your favourite Artists have been performed and recorded. For our latest Playlist, we share the many times Jamaicans covered The Beatles.

In our new Playlist “Jamaica Sings The Beatles“, we feature the many Artists who recorded covers of some of The Beatles’ many classics. Life has been good to Vybz Kartel. Since his release from prison close to 2 years ago, he gained more money, more assets, a greater appreciation for life away from the bars, and a lot more. As an Artist, he’s still in demand. Internationally, he has collaborated with DJ Khaled and Travis Scott, and recently was recruited by R&B star Chris Brown for his new album, “Brown (Break Rules Only When Necessary)“. Check them out on, “F*** And Party“.

Produced by T-Town, Chris Brown further shares his love for Jamaica by linking up with Vybz Kartel for “F*** And Party”. The track finds Brown expressing his desire to not be locked down, and gives the young Woman who is interested in him a warning that nothing will be normal when it involves him. Kartel also shares the same sentiment as he’s all about having a good time, no time for anything serious, so know what you’re getting into. Sidem Ozturk, Kartel’s leading lady, gets a shoutout on the track as well, and the “World Boss” scores another International collaboration, and will definitely do the numbers. Major Myjah, son of Bounty Killa and frequent collaborator of Chris Brown, also shares writing credits on the “Brown” album. From dancing with Elephant Man, to sampling Red Rat, to recruiting Jamaican Dancers for his team, to collaborating with Vybz Kartel. Looks like they’ll call him “Gaza Chris” now. Does this mean he’ll do another concert in Jamaica? Stay tuned. “Brown” is out now.
