Skippa Drops A “4-Pac” Of New Music

Dancehall Artist Skippa continues to extend his presence in the streets, and he has a lot in store. While the Deejay had some trouble with the Law earlier this year, it didn’t stop the fans from tuning in to his many releases, and anticipating for the next drop. Well, the next drop is here, and it comes in the form of a “4-Pac“.

Skippa’s new EP, “4-Pac” is just something to hold the people over, and a new collection to add to the library. The Deejay continues to share stories from the fast life he lives, further keeping his name hot on the scene. As usual, he does it for Granny, and listeners tune in to the tracks over production by Rich Together, Solitary Muzic, WhiteSquare Records, Chargie Records, Rich Talent, and Gogetta Music, with a guest appearance by Mani Sparta. Music may not always be top priority for Skippa, but he puts in the work when he hits the Studio. Now unwrap this 4 pack of new music.

The Month of June is recognized as “Caribbean American Heritage Month“, and on “Oldies Sunday“, we want to highlight a few Artists who are a part of this. Today, we highlight Jamaican-American Hip Hop legend Busta Rhymes with the single, “Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check“.

Produced by Rashad Smith and released through Elektra Records in 1996, Busta Rhymes made a crash with the single, “Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check”. This was his debut as a Solo Artist since his departure from the “Leaders Of The New School“, a Hip Hop group that was formed with himself, Dinco D, Charlie Brown, and Cut Monitor Milo in 1994. The track’s opening was a burst of energy from Rhymes, and it gave many listeners an introduction of an Artist who would dominate the scene. “Woo-Hah!!” was inspired by Funk legend George Clinton of the Parliament-Funkadelic, Hip Hop group The Sugarhill Gang, and Dancehall’s style and delivery. Given Rhymes’ Jamaican background and the energy that Clinton’s music delivered, those were essential in the creation of this song. The song featured what would be described as the Rapper’s manic delivery with a bevvy of rhymes throughout, and it was instantly well-received. The single was followed up with a Music Video directed by Hype Williams.

“Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check” was successful for Busta Rhymes as it gained high chart placements on Billboard in the US, UK, New Zealand, Sweden, and The Netherlands. The single was featured on Rhymes’ debut album, “The Coming“, and would go on to receive Platinum certification, selling over a Million copies. There was also a remix that was released shortly after featuring the late New York Rapper, ODB.

Since the release of “Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check”, Busta Rhymes would cement himself as a Hip Hop legend, a Global Ambassador of Music, and a New York Hip Hop King. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Jamaican parents, he always recognized his Jamaican background and upbringing, and it would show in a number of songs he released, collaborations, and Media moments. He would release a number of albums and singles that would earn him high sales, worldwide popularity, and high-profile accolades, and he is still active in music. He is recognized during “Caribbean American Heritage Month”, and “Woo-Hah!!” remains one of his classic releases.

Dancehall has always been a hub for the lyrical ones. That’s not to say other genres don’t boast some lyrical powerhouses, but it’s something special with Dancehall. The decades have welcomed plenty Artists, and there are some who believe in testing the abilities of their peers. Dancehall Artist IWaata has been hailed as one of top lyricists in recent years, and he shows out when needed. Before the release of his new album “Underrated“, he drops, “Never Basic“.

Produced by Troyton Music and featuring Dancehall Artist Aidonia, IWaata goes bar for bar with this Dancehall Icon in, “Never Basic”. The Deejays hold their own over solid production that samples the classic “Sleng Teng Riddim“. Aidonia, who recently celebrated 20 years in Dancehall, is potent as ever, and we get a song that shows love to two different generations of Lyricists. While this track isn’t their most lyrical, we look forward to them doing even more music together. As IWaata gears up for the release of his album, expect even more music in the coming days. When a Creative levels up, it’s about making way for more progress. For a number of years Trinidad and Tobago’s Sarkastik Ambassador and TOOFLESS have held their own in music and content creation. Their next move in forming a duo under the name, “MDNT EMBSY” aims to expand on not only their creativity, but to connect with more people around the world. Earlier, they made their official debut with the single, “24Hours“.

Released through Shoroc Productions, MDNT EMBSY aims for the ladies with, “24Hours”. They answer the call when she’s fighting with her Man, and the next 1,440 minutes are spent in the ecstasy department where worlds collides, feelings merge, and sparks fly. The duo reels her in, and puts her in a trance with the smooth production, and if you’re familiar with music from both Artists, you’ll want to keep this in your Playlist. My only issue with the track is that it needed more background vocals, but there’s always room for a remix. You know Sarkastik Ambassador, and you know TOOFLESS, now get familiar with MDNT EMBSY.

Parasocial relationships aside, the Deejay has made tracks that quickly became favourites for his Female fanbase. He continues to do so with the release of the “Gyal Dem Shift” EP.

Inspired by his 2022 hit single, “Gyal Dem Shift” is Bayka’s 3-track token of appreciation for the ladies. While he works on a full project, he holds them over with a few songs for the Summer. Released through Out Deh Records, production on the EP include Zimi Records, DJ Mac, and Rich Fingers while he enlists Dancehall Queen Spice through the inclusion of the crowd favourite, “Miss Pretty“. Packed with aggressive energy and raunchy vibes throughout, Bayka will continue to be a guilty pleasure for the ladies with this EP.
