In recognition of Federation Sound’s 15th anniversary and Vybz Kartel’s career that has been stalled by his recent convictions, today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes in the form of a mixtape. Titled “From Time To Time“, this mixtape increased the popularity of Vybz Kartel and marked as the first collaboration between him and Federation Sound. Released in 2003, this mixtape featured hits from the artist, exclusive dubs and more that brought him from a local star to an International name to know. Founded in 1999 by Max Glazer, Kenny Meez, and Cipha Sounds, Federation Sound was formed to help bring Reggae music and message to all walks of life in the form of exclusive mixes and dubplates. With current members such as Alric & Boyd, and past member the late Disco D, Federation Sound became a force to be reckoned with in their 15 year career. Check out the mixtape below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Dropping some dope music all the way from Milwaukee is Rapper Vonny Del Fresco. Titled “yours.” which features singer Carpe DM and production by Jamaica’s BNJMN, this a great mix of dope bars for the ladies, a great hook and top notch production. I can’t imagine what a music video for this would look like. BNJMN is someone to look out for in Jamaica who has been making some really good production for a long time. This is the first single off Vonny’s upcoming EP “After It All” in which BNJMN lent most of his production to. You don’t have to play any games, make this track yours by checking it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Since Vybz Kartel’s guilty verdict a few days ago, members of the music fraternity and fans worldwide are still feeling the hit. Being one of the greats, Vybz has always had a solid work ethic when it came to recording songs. In a tribute of sorts PondEnds Radio has released a short mix that features some of Kartel’s latest recordings, couple old songs, and commentary from members of the music community. A great mix here, despite being away from the public for so long, his new material still managed to hit the airwaves. How many more years will he be away for? Will there be more music? Check out the mix below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Going through his archives another night is Creep from Chromatic. Tonight he released another Vybz Kartel dub titled “Sprite Medley” where he revisited a couple of his old hits for the sound system. Di war get ugly. Feeling nostalgic? Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
After hitting the airwaves with a single and video, Spice reloaded and recruited Rapper Busta Rhymes for “So Mi Like It“. With production from NotNice Records, The “Princess Of Dancehall” and the “Dragon” dropped some sexually charged lyrics to an already spicy track. Interesting to hear Spice rapping on the remix as well, this can’t be the only song they’ve done together. What do you think? Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
