After captivating your ears with the single, Protoje and Chronixx now bring to you this visual for their hit single, “Who Knows”. Directed by Storm Saulter, the two artists bring out their conscious lyrics over the Winta James production while they take a trip, encounter a break down, bike back travelling, and a boat ride where they rock a Reggae party. Great sequence of events in this video and a very clean one as well. Check out the cameos in this one as well. It’s all about the fingers, and today Lady Saw drops a new single about them. Titled “Pretty Fingers“, Saw talks about self love, expressing how her fingers know her better than anyone else, and grooming her “best friends” who never deceive her and leave her unhappy over a high energy production. Not a bad effort from the deejay, she gave viewers a heads up about this single a few weeks ago on Onstage so now it’s available for everyone to hear. Today’s new video comes from rising Reggae artist Ataru. Titled “African” and directed by Wayne South, we hear Ataru promoting his African roots, highlights the many places in Africa we could be from, a little history, and attributing his every move to that of an African. Not a bad video here but I love this single, looking forward to more from this artist. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Ciara’s “Body Party” has been a popular single in recent months and today Jamaica’s BNJMN released his remix to the hit song. Titled the “Body Party (BNJMN Greezy Remix)“, the MikeWillMadeIt instrumental is swapped with a BNJMN production and the vocals are chopped up at various points. This “Body Party” just got a little more intense, all we need is a video remix to go with it. A really great effort here and should be pleasing to anyone who listens to it. Dropping new music today is Jamaica’s Acmatic. Titled “Bottom Of The Bank” and produced by PlateFace and backup vocals from Sevana, we hear lyrics about dealing with expenses, sending family members to a psych ward, frustrations and washing away sorrows with alcohol. Many people in Jamaica are going through a few things especially when it comes to the cost of living. With new taxes, higher prices on even basic necessities and no increase in salary, many can’t handle it and take to the bottle to temporarily relieve that stress. A few weeks ago, Vybz Kartel was not only found guilty of his crimes, but was also handed a life sentence. While many celebrated or felt disappointed, TVJ’s Anthony Miller released a documentary on the Dancehall Artist up to his sentencing. Titled “Dancehall Dark Star“, we see clips that chronicle Kartel’s journey from a new act working with Bounty Killa, his own fame, feuds and his arrest. If you were one of many who missed it, check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
