NEW MUSIC: @TommyLeeSparta – Captain Sparta

Here’s something you don’t hear everyday. For the kids Tommy Lee released his theme music, “Captain Sparta“. Produced by by Guzu Music, we hear Tommy deejaying cartoon references with the help of children chanting “Tommy Lee“. I have to admit I like it, this is something I never expected from the deejay and it reminds me of the theme music from popular cartoons. Check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW MUSIC: @AidoniaJOP x @MajorLazer x @ThePartySquad x @Baauer x @PanchoJapan – Smoker Shake Oh My! (Rmx)

This is a big one, a clash of countries and genres of music. Major Lazer teamed up with Jamaica’s Aidonia, Japan’s Gachapan, Amsterdam’s Party Squad and Brooklyn’s Baauer to give a mix of House, Trap, Electronic, and Dancehall music. Titled “Smoker Shake Oh My! (Remix)“, this is a remix of the popular Baauer creation, “Harlem Shake“. Aidonia is heard chanting “Ganja Fi Bun!” along with other lyrics. Sounds like a fun track and should drive the crowd crazy at live shows. Set to be released on March 12 on iTunes, check out the song below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @RealiOctane – Gal A Gimme Bun

octanei

Exclusive! Today’s new music video comes from Reggae artist I-Octane. After premiering it CVM’s Onstage, he now released it for the whole world to see. Titled “Gal A Gimme  Bun” and directed by Scorpio 21, we see I-Octane discovering that his lady has been unfaithful to him, the activities that happen when he’s away, and how it has affected him. The “Bunna Man” has been played by comedian Fancy Cat and he does comedic justice to his role. It’s one thing to be involved with another man’s woman but why wear his clothes and enjoy the game on his couch and TV? Funny video, look at how cheating put I-Octane in the mental institution. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Chaka Demus And Pliers – Murder She Wrote (1992)

In recognition of French Montana and Nicki Minaj’s hit, “Freaks“, today I feature one of the songs that was sampled in it. Titled “Murder She Wrote“, this was a very popular hit of legendary duo Chaka Demus and Pliers. Released in 1992 and produced by Sly and Robbie on the “Bam Bam” remake riddim, this song was described as a song for the ladies with an “Angel face but a Devil’s heart“. This song spoke about a girl named Maxine who was a user, very promiscuous, and was also a murderer. According to the artists, this was written off an experience but with a few details omitted.

NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews @WayneWonder25

WWOnstage

Fresh off his successful performance at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records, Wayne Wonder hopped onto the Onstage set to have a chat with Winford Williams. Here he spoke about  his success over the years, his “No Letting Go” single from 2003, his experiences as mainstream artist, advice for the young artists, his plans for the future, and his album “My Way“. Good interview, always great to see top artists giving the public giving insights on the mechanics of their careers. It’s never easy but it can be fruitful once done properly.
