Dropping some conscious music today is the combination of Kabaka Pyramid and I-Wayne. Titled “Versatile” and produced by Rokwon Productions on the Rokwon Drop Riddim, we hear the artists speak on the evil that many do, promoting righteousness, fighting the corrupt, going against artists who promote the wrong things, Tessanne Chin and her getting recognition, and advising the youths to be versatile as to avoid falling into the traps of Babylon and Rome. A great effort here as I’ve been anticipating a collaboration between the two. It could a long shot but I’d love to hear a EP from the two or at least more tracks from them this year. It’s all about the money today as Rapper KDon lets us know he wants it all. Hopping on Traverse (a.k.a. Bruce) and Lady Livi’s “Bill“, KDon expresses how he wants the type of money that keeps on growing in all currencies, and being able to afford all the luxuries and enjoy life to the fullest. Where’s the money? He wants them in $5, $10, and $50 notes. Will Livi and Bruce give this SOS Dynamikz production another try for another remix? Stay tuned. Tonight on Onstage, Konshens and Masicka were featured to discuss a few things. Here Konshens spoke about his Konz876 shoe line and its progress so far, his collaboration with Sean Paul and performing it overseas including on the Arsenio Hall Show, and signing Masicka to his Subkonshus label and future projects. Masicka also reintroduced himself to the world, connecting with Konshens, creating a buzz lately with new music, wanting to be a bigger force in Dancehall music, and upcoming performances and projects. Masicka also performed a new single on set. Good interview, both artists have been creating a great buzz in their respective lanes and coming together it will be greater. Today’s new video comes from the combination of Etana and Jo Mersa Marley. Titled “Thy Will Be Done” we hear Etana and Jo Mersa dropping message music and speaking on the issues affecting Jamaica and its people. In the video Etana’s part is shot in different communities highlighting the youth and the adults that reside there and also scenes of her performing at an event while we see Jo Mersa delivering his part in the studio. A great combination here as the “Strong One” and the 2nd generation Marley deliver conscious music that will reach the ears of many. Dropping some hotness and energy today is the D-I-V-A Tifa! Titled “Body Up” and produced by Di Genius, we hear Tifa deejaying about how sexy she is, how she drives the men crazy, and other girls should just fall back and appreciate since they can’t be her. I love the energy off this one and Di Genius’ production compliments it well. Her body is “Up deh” and the volume for this track shall be “Up deh” as well.
