Woiyoii! It’s an “Unruly” Sunday! With Popcaan gearing up to release his “Forever” album on July 20, DJ Scribz felt it was time for a dedication mix. Pulling from his various crates, today he presents to us his official Popcaan tribute Mixtape, “To The Glory“! Featuring some of your favourite “Unruly” hits mixed some live performances, we’ve come a long way from the young Deejay who joined Vybz Kartel on the massive hit, “Clarks“. Now an International Artist, the “Unruly Boss” has a lot more ground to cover before reaching a “Legendary” status. DJ Scribz ensures that we’ve enjoy the mix with his various selections as well. It is home to many Immigrants who share their cultures over the years. Today, Rapper/DJ Stichie Don and legendary Rapper Rampage who share Caribbean backgrounds, speak on where they’re from on “Unsolved Mysteries“. Produced by DubLab Productions, the duo share their experiences over some hard hitting beat that’ll have you thinking you’re on the corner in the 90’s. From hustling days to seeing crime and corruption, they share stories that many others have seen in the places they call home. Barrington Levy Gets Sampled On @MeganRyte’s “On & On”!

If you’re familiar with Hot 97, you’re aware of one of their personalities, DJ Megan Ryte. Recently she announced that she has signed with Interscope Records, and in celebration of her achievement, she released her debut single, “On & On“! Produced by MyBoyRoach, this blends some Caribbean vibes thanks to Tory Lanez, Hood Celebrityy, and the legendary Barrington Levy who appears as a sample. The song, which aims to prep listeners for the Summer fun and love, sampled Levy’s 1994 single “Be Strong“. Produced by Levy and released through the Lipstic Label, “Be Strong” was featured on his 1993 project, “Barrington“, and given the acoustic treatment on his Album “Acousticalevy” which was released in 2015. The song finds Levy trying to do right with his lady, but is bombarded with a lot of trials throughout. The Artwork for “On & On” was also inspired by Levy’s 2008 Album, “Teach The Youth: Barrington Levy & Friends At Joe Gibbs (1980-85)“.

The Deaf Empowerment Abroad Foundation (D.E.A.F.) has selected DJ Hear No Evil from Mount Vernon, New York as their keynote speaker in Kingston and Knockpatrick (Manchester) Jamaica. On March 15th and 16th, he will be touring several schools in Jamaica, sharing the art of DJing, overcoming obstacles, and his story as a Deaf/hearing impaired DJ.

The Deaf Empowerment Abroad Foundation aims to inspire, affirm, and motivate the youth in the Deaf community. The moves made will assist in breaking down the beliefs in Jamaican society that Deaf = Dumb, and Deaf = Can Not. These attitudes are also prominent in most Deaf children’s homes, resulting in negative stigmas, non-acceptance, and loss of self-worth. The camp affirms Deafness as a culture and aims to empower Deaf youth with the knowledge of Deaf Can!
