Bringing a dose of Reggae music straight from Johannesburg, South Africa is Singer, One Zeal with his new EP. Titled “The Lion Boy EP“, One Zeal compiled 8 tracks about love, serving Jah, and bringing social awareness to where he’s from. After listening this EP, one would know that the power of Reggae inspires and brings out the best in anyone, no matter the location. I like that he used Damian Marley’s “Welcome To JamRock” instrumental and my top tracks so far are “Beware of August“, “Ms. Confidence” and “Holy Is“. Great selection for those who want to check out Reggae music in another country and I’m looking forward to more from this artist. Dropping off the first track off his upcoming EP is Jamaican Producer, BNJMN. Titled “YOUGOTIT“, this instrumental is a collaboration between him and Los Angeles Producer, Fortunes. With a mix of vocal samples and elements from their own production styles, the only thing missing is a great artist crafting a hit song out of it. Hip Hop in Jamaica continues to rise with the emergence of new artists who aim to hang with the best of them. Off his new EP “Been A Minute“, Rapper ChronDon released the visuals to his freestyle over Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever” single. Directed by Creezay YGF, Chron hangs out with his friends and drops some bars over the instrumental. Titled “yours.” which features singer Carpe DM and production by Jamaica’s BNJMN, this a great mix of dope bars for the ladies, a great hook and top notch production. I can’t imagine what a music video for this would look like. BNJMN is someone to look out for in Jamaica who has been making some really good production for a long time.
