@TheRoyalBlu vs @ToryLanez vs @Drake vs @PopcaanMusic: The “Controlla” Battle!

You couldn’t deny the “Controlla” single in 2016. From what started as a leak has become a single that blew up everywhere! Created by Drake (duh!), this was a single to boost the anticipation of his 4th album, “Views“. Of course when it comes to hit songs, there will be remixes, covers, and clones (lol Tyga). While we won’t get into the other story/controversy with “Controlla” (maybe next time, Mr. Vegas), we’ll recruit 4 very popular versions in a Battle Royale! Up for Battle are Drake (Original), Popcaan (Featured on leak/suggested to be a Remix although edited versions created waves), Royal Blu (Who garnered an underground following for his version), and Tory Lanez (Who has recently revealed his own Canadian/Jamaican Dancehall styled version). Voting for the tracks are below, let’s get ready to battle!

DRAKE

POPCAAN

ROYAL BLU

TORY LANEZ

@AllanKNGDM Joins Forces With @ChronixxMusic In “Fables” Music Video

We’ve featured this single a few months ago and heard greatness from what some may call a unique pairing but recently, Recording Artist Allan Kingdom took the trip to Jamaica, called up Chronixx and brought to us “Fables“. Directed by Martin C. Pariseau and starring Damanhi Mcghuie and Oprah Forknot, the Artists share their stories on breaking stereotypes, refuting things that they’ve heard about growing up to be fables, and standing out while connecting with nature. These lyrics blend in with the visual as we see a young man taking the trek to discover his own truth by leaving his home and finding a woman who lives by a river. Off Allan’sNorthern Lights“, check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

@FiveSteez Crashes On The “Dirty Couch” For New EP

While he announced the new EP recently, Rapper Five Steez kicks off his “HeatRockz” campaign with a first single. Titled “Dirty Couch” and produced by Mordecai Beats, Steez slows it down and makes cookie cutter Rappers who are a liability to the culture know it’s time to pack it up or feel his wrath. Aiming to bring back the essence to the music, Five Steez is tired of those who dilute it and has enough artillery for when they step to him. A head banging number, be on the look out for more from the “Yard Nigga RapMC as he chefs it up with Mordecai in the lab. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
