Canadian Producer/DJ BlkLuos has been busy cooking up some new music for your speakers and earbuds. Known for working with underground Artists and prominent names, there’s no change of that this year. With a collection of projects to his name, he is bringing some heat during these cold times with the 2nd installment in his “Winter Edition” Mixtape series.

Featuring 10 tracks, DJ BlkLuos brings together some of the best emerging talent out of Toronto, New York, and London. Handling all of the production, BlkLuos brings out the best out of these Artists which include Love Boat Luciano from the Griselda/Black Soprano Family, frequent collaborator 333Zilla, the late Heartbreak Quotey, and promising UK Artist Tabz. If you’re familiar with DJ BlkLuos’ work ethic, expect a lot more music from him throughout this year, with some of the best emerging Artists. Bundle up with these hot tracks, it’s cold out there!

Get A Taste Of @ShenYeng & @TheeStallion’s “Lick” Single

2022 may have started off in a not so great way (Covid is doing numbers still, stay safe!), but we give thanks for new music, right? Making a splash here today, is the combination of Dancehall star Shenseea, and US Rapper Megan Thee Stallion as they deliver a song that will stir up a few conversations. Today we hear the track, “Lick“.

A collaboration that was anticipated since the two met, Shenseea and Megan Thee Stallion made a bold step with the release of “Lick”, which was produced by Murda Beatz. With the topic of Oral Sex still finding its balance in Jamaica, the ladies made it very clear what they require from their lovers on the track. Shenseea borrows the hook from Trini Icon Denise Belfon’s “Work”, which was remixed and became very popular on Social Media thanks to a series of wining videos. While the song may rub some the wrong way, others may just find this to be a great addition to their Playlists.

As Shenseea continues to find her place on the International market thanks to collabs with Tyga, Masego, and Kanye West, and various celebrities endorsing her, expect “Lick” to become more than trending topic on Twitter. This isn’t Meg’s first collab with Caribbean Artists as she previously joined Popcaan on “Intercourse“, and Cardi B on the infamous “WAP” single. How about iShawna on the remix?

First off, R.I.P. to the LEGENDARY Robbie Shakespeare, 1/2 of the “Riddim Twins” a.k.a. the production duo known as Sly & Robbie. May Robbie’s amazing basslines forever live on! We had plans to release a Playlist paying tribute to the legendary Sly & Robbie next year, but with the sad news that came this week, we had to put something together in the best way we know how. We present to you the “Sampling Sly & Robbie” Playlist!

Sly & Robbie made classics that have spanned generations, and helped to inspire many around the world. Our latest Playlist highlights not only some of the classics, but some of the known tracks that have sampled them. Heph B Brings A Different Energy With The “Amarii” Album

Houston based AfroDancehall Artist Heph B has made a name for himself as one of the top AfroDancehall acts out. With a sound that bridges the gap between African and Caribbean sounds, The “Linkupbwoy” has a career that is well respected around the world with a following that continues to grow with every release. The past few years saw him releasing singles that quickly became favourites for many, he now steps it up even more with the release of his new album, “Amarii”.

Featuring 14 tracks, Heph B looks to take his career to the next level with the “Amarii” album. The album features a mix of Afrobeats, Dancehall, Pop, Reggae, and Hip Hop sounds, and Heph B continues to show his versatility with tracks that range from high energy tracks, dance-ready singles, conscious music, to love songs. Heph B’s unique flow, songwriting, and delivery shows the world why his award winning career continues to excel, and why many see him as one of the best to ever do it. A rollout for the album started in early 2021 with the release of the singles “Omo Ton Soh” and “Hide” that quickly found favour with fans, building heavy anticipation for the album. With an already jam packed project, Heph B has also included guest appearances from Tarnado, Qraig Voicemail, Miles B, Lavisch, Jambo, Matt Moet, Ojayy Wright, Adejames, and Rseenal. Heph B has already started a promotional campaign for the “Amarii” album, and he looks to release content in support of the album in the coming weeks.

Montego Bay based Rapper MoulaUE returns to music after a short hiatus. Having shown that he is one of the Jamaican Lyricists you need to know, he had to fall back for a while to deal with life outside the booth. Before he returns in a bigger way however, he goes back into the archives to share a few gems that never saw the light of day. Today, you’ll get a chance to hear them in the new “The Lost Files” EP.

Consisting of 3 tracks, MoulaUE gives listeners a freestyle, and a couple collaborations that were made for previous projects, but were left behind for one reason or another. Recording Artists Warm Soul, Minx, and JadaFilly appear as the collaborators on “The Lost Files” EP, and the production is strong on this release. Shabba Ranks’ “Ting-A-Ling” Sampled On @Wale’s “Folarin II” Album!

Recently, US Rapper Wale released his much anticipated album, “Folarin II“. The album is the sequel to his 2012 “Folarin” Mixtape, and finds him showing growth in his over 15 year career. The album features collaborations with J. Cole, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Jamie Foxx, and many others. While he is known for clever wordplay and songs for the ladies, a familiar sound popped up on this album. Knowing how Jamaicans can pop up in anything, Dancehall legend Shabba Ranks makes an appearance on “Folarin II”!

On track 2 titled “Name Ring Bell“, Shabba Ranks’ classic single, “Ting-A-Ling” was sampled. Produced by Tr!zzy Track, “Name Ring Bell” features the signature “Ting a ling a ling” throughout the track while Wale raps about why his name rings bells. “Ting-A-Ling” was produced by Steely & Clevie on the “Gigi Riddim” and released in 1992 through the Shang label, and it finds Shabba Ranks belting out clever Dancehall lyrics. The song became one of Shabba’s biggest hits, and has been sampled by Vybz Kartel, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, and Drake.
