DyDy Drops The New Female Anthem, “Stress Free”!

Recording Artist/Internet Personality DyDy is back with another anthem for the ladies! The “Pineapple Queen” has been on a roll since the release of the single, “2 Can“, and is aiming to rack up more fans. While she had ladies quoting “Pineapple Fi Di Pum Pum“, she now wants them to be more empowered on the single, “Stress Free“. Produced by Track Starr Music, DyDy isn’t here for the “f*** boys“, is all about her marriage to the dollars, and is determined to stay progressive no matter what or who comes her way. DyDy also paid homage to the former Dancehall Artist Queen Lady Saw (now Minister Marion Hall) as she quoted a couple lines from the hit, “Man Is Di Least“. Let this one blaze many trails as it will empower the ladies and encourage them to stay on top of things. Keep your heads high ladies, life is about making great things happen. OLDIES SUNDAY: Aswad – Don’t Turn Around (1988)

Don’t you just love hearing a Reggae cover version of a popular song? Well you’ll love our selection today on “Oldies Sunday“! Today we go back to the 80’s with UK Reggae Band, Aswad with the track, “Don’t Turn Around“. Produced by Chris Porter, this was released through the Mango Label and Island Records in 1988. The song was originally a Tina Turner B-Side written by Diane Warren and Albert Hammond and released in 1986, but gained the attention of Aswad when they heard Luther Ingram’s 1987 cover version. The Reggae version turned out to be a hit for the Band as it was the #1 single in New Zealand and UK (with a Silver certification), and a top ten hit in Norway, Ireland, Netherlands, and Belgium. It also influenced Swedish Pop group Ace of Base’s cover version which the Band helped to produce.

Aswad went on to release over 21 albums and scored a couple more hits, but “Don’t Turn Around” is still a crowd favourite. Nice up your Sunday by checking out the track below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

This is for the ladies who have “the face of an Angel, but the eyes of the Devil” who ride shotgun in their man’s car. Be ready for whatever girl! Konshens continues his run of International collaborations. From tracks with Rick Ross, Nipsey Hussle, and E-40 to name a few, we get the visual with Recording Artist B-Rae for the The Kemist produced track, “Shotgun“! While we find B-Rae proclaiming the role as a “Ride or die chick” on the track, Konshens holds it down for her and assures her that they’re a great combination. Throughout the Sam Braventon directed video however, we find them counting money, cruising in a Chevy Bel-Air, and escaping a Police raid. It’s all about being together forever, having each other’s backs, and making a lot of things happen together no matter how what’s going on. Off B-Rae’s 2017 “Sparkle City, The World May Never KnowEP, check out the video below, and share with a friend. Show us some love on Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.
