The Summer holidays are over, but in this Covid 19 world, everyone’s stuck inside. With Schools and jobs handling (most) things the online way, we’re seeing the “new norm” everyday. Nonetheless, creators create, and many of them released music in time for Summer 2020 in Jamaica. Today, we look back at a few tracks that were released in the 2nd Volume of the “Las’ Lick Playlist“!

Following up the 2018 Playlist, this 2020 edition features 32 tracks from Jamaican artists. Whether your taste is Dancehall, Reggae, Pop, or Hip Hop, you get dope offerings from emerging artists like Royal Blu, Leno Banton, Blvk H3ro, and Skillibeng, to established acts like Protoje, Beenie Man, Aidonia, Vybz Kartel, and Popcaan, to new acts like Marcilli, Prizal, Niyne, and GyalKapone. Jamaica’s new generation of artists have been brewing something crazy over the past few years. No matter your taste or genre, this talented bunch continues to break barriers and give the world a new sound. Producer Wavy Jones, who has been one of the folks doing his part in ushering in a new wave, has been steadily making his sounds be heard in various parts of the world. Today, he invites you all to experience a dose of “Sine Energy” from his new EP.

Released through In Good Company and comprised of 6 tracks, Wavy Jones creates a space for for some beautiful sounds paired with some individuals who stand out when they express their art. With Leno Banton, Mila.Akilah, Blvk H3ro, Jeeby, Shawn J. Smith, Kione Zaire, Dxcape, and Ramia onboard, this EP is guaranteed to be your favourite this year. After giving listeners a dose with “Ketch Di Pree” earlier this year, expect nuff more niceness when you press play on the whole project. Knowing Wavy Jones, he has a lot more clips in the chamber, so for now, immerse yourself in some “Sine Energy”. Some of you know this Creative for her Photography, some may know her for her love of the herb, some may know her for her daily commentary on Twitter, but today, you will know Kamoey Ng-You a.k.a. GyalKapone as a Recording Artist! Today, we have the premiere of her debut single, “Never“!

Teaming up with Producer Wavy Jones, GyalKapone tackles a topic that many can relate to, and that’s heartbreak. While she shares her experiences, GyalKapone flips the script here as she lets her ex know that she’ll bounce back, and she has no problem retaliating if she sees him. She shows a side of vulnerability, but the “Bad Gyal” steps out to show us that she’s not to be messed with. One thing you can’t do, is take her Crown. Big up Miss Julene. Wavy Jones on the other hand, provides the perfect sound to compliment GyalKapone’s emotions, and grab you by the collar at first listen. He has been enjoying a run this year with productions for “Ketch Di Pree” by himself, Blvk H3ro, Kione Zaire, and Jeeby Lyricist, “Two Minutes” by Jay EDGE, “Still On The Grind” by Yanah, and even gave us a remix for an episode of “13th Street Quarantine Sessions“.

Jamaican Producer Wavy Jones takes over with exclusive remix of Brazilian Musician Cassiano’s 1976 track, “Onda 12” called “All Night“. Having worked with the likes of upcoming Artists Yanah, Blvk H3ro, Biz, and many more, Wavy Jones brings a different sound to the Jamaican music scene, and is a Producer that you need to call up for your next hit. He’s currently promoting his new single, “Ketch Di Pree” with Blvk H3ro, Jeeby Lyricist, and Kione Zaire.

Jamaican Producer Wavy Jones stays low key when he gets to work. When he puts the finished products out into the world however, it’s like a parade. Having worked with the likes of Yanah, Biz, Blvk H3ro, JayEdge, and more, he looks to make a lot more noise this year. Today, we get to hear, “Ketch Di Pree“!

Done in collaboration with International label In Good Company, Wavy Jones calls up Blvk H3ro, Jeeby Lyricist, and Kione Zaire for an exhibition of Reggae, Soul, and Hip Hop sounds, and dope lyrics all around. With the quartet forming like the “Goodfellas“, or the “Reservoir Dogs“, or “The Rat Pack“, they join the list of folks who further push the boundaries in Jamaica’s music scene. This marks the 2nd time these 4 creatives linked up as they’ve previously released, “Blessed Indies“.

Accompanying the single, is a music video directed by IIFold Creative Studios (with a lil help from Director 300K) in Downtown Kingston. In the video, we find the quartet tag teaming to give you that fire. Whether in street clothes, or all suited up, the gang’s all here, and we get a great visual with a dope soundtrack. “Ketch Di Pree” is available right now!
