2017 Faves: @JeebyLyricist – Mobaby (#3)

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at a few songs that were favourites on the Blog for the year. While we can’t name EVERY one, we’ll give you 5 (in no particular order so hold off on the ego) to reminisce on, or get familiar with.

Taking the 3rd spot today is Jeeby Lyricist with “Mobaby“! Inspired by Recording Artist Jidenna’s “Bambi“, Jeeby teamed up with Producer The Kash (who remade the Instrumental) in May/June to speak on the ills that affect his hometown of Montego Bay, St. James. He even speaks on them through the role of a Scammer. Many come to Jamaica thinking it’s all white sandy beaches, continuous partying, and chill vibes. Just like the rest of the World however, there are issues like crime and violence, corruption, and poverty. A song with a message. If you missed our 4th pick, check it out here. In music, an Artist shares his/her thoughts through a song, but at times it’s just not enough. Seeing that he has a lot to talk about, Montego Bay based Rapper MoulaUE steps outside the booth and shares his “Conversations With MoulaUE” series. In season 2, he speaks on his Artistry, getting his name out there, dealing with criticism, giving and earning respect, making music, and much more. Montego Bay has been holding their own in the Music scene in recent times. From Hip Hop acts like Moula UE, Trapic$ The Troop, Slim I.D., Daley, to Dancehall/Reggae acts like Tommy Lee Sparta, Teejay, and Jeeby, their eastern counterparts should pay attention. Rapper Karma Crew however, has been staying busy with his own share of releases this year, and recently he kept at it with a new video titled, “Lyrical Majesty“. Shot/Directed by 876 Media Ent., Karma keeps the visual simple, but stays on fire when it comes to the bars! With plans to drop a new project in 2018, and possible treats for the Christmas season, salute that man and the music he’s bringing to you. Check out the video below.

@KansHTG & @DaleyHTG Are Going Up To The “Chill Suite” On New Single!

Sometimes you need to be on higher ground, an upper level…that’s a possibility today thanks to High Tunez Gang Rappers, Kans and Daley! On “Chill Suite“, they give listeners a laid back vibe as they make the kind of music you just want to relax on a leather couch, have a few close peeps around, and smoke a rare strain of Marijuana to over a TAC4 produced Instrumental. The track also features an appearance from OneLoveTheo, and the talented Monique Kidd (a.k.a. Kidding Art) provides the dope Art for the single as well.

Rapper @MoulaUE Makes His Return With The “All U Go Get Until…” EP!

Montego Bay based Rapper MoulaUE has been staying busy these past few months. Since the release of his 2016 effort, “Know My Intentions“, he has made appearances on various projects with a verse or few. Today, the “Mobay Kingpin” makes his return with a new project titled “All U Go Get Until…” to shake up a few playlists. With 5 tracks in, and featuring Production from Thomas Craiger, JuloOnTheTrack, 1694, Dre Minor and Ty Rose, Moula’s ready to make you a believer that Hip Hop is very much alive in the 2nd City. With contributions from his KMT brethren Karma Crew and Daley, Rapper Yung Asura and Recording Artist Minx, this is something to roll up one with and hold a vibe. Expect more Music from MoulaUE later this year, including more guest verses, and a new Album. Be on the look out also for his “Conversations” series on Youtube. Check out the EP below!

@MoulaUE, @KarmaCrew876, & @DaleyHTG Step Up To New Levels On “Big League”!

It’s that time again for some new music fresh outta Montego Bay! Next up is the “Mobay Kingpin“, MoulaUE a.k.a. Moula Di Don! With a new project on the way, he starts off the week with “Big League“! Produced by Thomas Craiger, Moula talks that talk with a presence like a Mob Boss over a dark Production. Featuring Karma Crew and Daley who kick off lyrics like Snipers on a big payroll, this should hold you over as Moula makes his return. For those familiar with the trio, they’re also known as “KMT” so consider this a little reunion. Off Moula’s new “All U Go Get Until…” EP which sees a September 8 release date, check out the track below.
