Being a member of the fast rising artists which include Protoje, Chronixx and Jah 9, Jesse Royal has been making a name for himself with his blend of music. Now added to the upcoming Reggae Sumfest, he had a quick chat with Winford Williams to speak on that and more. Here he spoke about his start and describing it as “From creeping to walking“, getting great support for his music, being groomed in the Church, being a part of the “Reggae Revolution” and contributing to bring more consciousness to the genre, being a devout Rastafarian, Reggae Sumfest and future projects which include his “Royally Speaking” mixtape with Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire. Great interview here, I like how articulate he is and has handled his interview well. Looking forward to his upcoming project. After causing quite a stir lately where he removed the “Gospel Artist” title from his brand, Prodigal Son or “Prodi” took to Onstage to expound on his decisions and more. Here he spoke on the reaction from the public to his change, remembering when he wasn’t well received in the beginning of his career and not paying attention to backlash, getting more airplay and support from DJs and members of the Church, making more positive changes to his music, and future plans. Not a bad Interview here, he also performed new music. I respect Prodi’s move and I see nothing wrong here as he’s not adding lewd lyrics to the music. Known for his cover songs on his Youtube Channel, Lucas DiPasquale’s popularity grew even more when he covered a medley of songs from Jamaica’s own Popcaan. Tonight, he joins the Onstage set for an Interview. Here he spoke on discovering Dancehall music and loving it, being in Jamaica for the first time, his very popular video, growing up in Canada, looking to further his music career, and studying media in College. He also performed the medley of Popcaan songs and other covers live. It’s good when people from other nationalities embrace Reggae and Dancehall music. They may not even understand Patois but they can sing every word. Much respect to Lucas, he got the official Onstage “Buss“!. With news of her signing to Island Kings Records, Tifa has been toiling hard over the years to become a success in the Dancehall scene. From New York to Jamaica, Kranium has been steadily making a name for himself in the Dancehall scene. With his single “Nobody Has To Know” burning up airwaves to even being cosigned by Rapper Drake, Kranium stopped by Onstage for the first time to further “Buss” himself to the Jamaican public. Here he spoke about his upbringing in New York, getting his start in the music business including toiling to get a break in New York, the success of “Nobody Has To Know” and the story behind it, and furthering his success with future projects. Not a bad Interview here, Kranium also presented the music video to his single. I respect what Kranium has done and as Winford described it, his success is one of the rare ones. When he wins, Jamaica wins. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
