Javada Jamaica Phenomenal Music Dancehall Reggae Blog 13thStreetPromotions 13thStreetPromo Caribbean

.@JavadaMusic Is Set To Make “Phenomenal” Moves!

Jamaican Recording Artist Javada is a diamond in the rough. An underrated Artist to many, he has been making progress in his career despite not topping the charts. Having given us tracks like “Wake Up Beside You“, “Seh Di Weerd and “Gal Dem Ready” with Konshens, and “Ooh Na Na Na” with Christopher Martin, he never backs down when it’s time to deliver. He even gave us projects like his “Rude and Smooth” Mixtape in 2014, and his “Feel Brand New” EP in 2018. Though he made International moves as he appeared on Latin Pop King Enrique Iglesias’ Gold/Latin Diamond selling single, “Duele El Corazón” in 2016, had his “Over and Over” single become a Gold selling remix thanks to German Rapper Bonez MC in 2019, linked up with Nigerian/DMV Recording Artist Tobby Drillz on “Give It To Me” in April, and teamed up with Austrian DJs Wax Wreckaz for “Bun Dung” in the same month, he’s looking to do even more. With a new decade to conquer, he sets the tone with his upcoming single, “Phenomenal“!

Teaming up with Jamar Oshane Roberts and Sean McCurbin a.k.a. Cymatic Audio, Javada targets the ladies with sensual lyrics, and a smooth delivery over a Dancehall Pop production that screams International ready. Showcasing his singjay style and giving the ladies a lot of energy, he looks forward to “Phenomenal” being kept on repeat this summer on the playlists, and during the late night activities. With more music to follow, Javada looks to keep his name buzzing even more for years to come, and dominate on the scene. “Phenomenal” is set to be released in June, but we have an exclusive preview of the track for you to hear.

The Tamlins Baltimore Randy Newman Nina Simone Reggae Music Blog 13thStreetPromotions 13thStreetPromo Oldies Sunday Old School 1979 1980 Sly & Robbie Taxi Records Cover Song Caribbean Retro Oldies

OLDIES SUNDAY: The Tamlins – Baltimore (1979/1980)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection was inspired by the latest offerings by Recording Artist, Lila Ike. Our selection comes from Reggae Group The Tamlins with the track, “Baltimore“. Produced by Sly & Robbie for Taxi Records, this was released in 1979 and 1980, and is a cover of American Recording Artist Randy Newman’s 1977 track of the same name. It was heavily inspired by American Recording Artist/Civil Rights Activist Nina Simone’s 1978 cover, especially in the production department. With the song’s social commentary, it paints a picture of living in Baltimore, Maryland in the 70s with people living on hard times, and if given the chance to escape, returning is never an option.

Since The Tamlins’ version of “Baltimore” was released, it became one of their biggest songs, thanks to its excellent Reggae production and harmonies displayed throughout. The Sly & Robbie production went on to become a juggling Riddim that has been reworked by Star Trail and Main Street labels, and featured recordings from Courtney John, Lutan Fyah, Dennis Brown, and many more. As mentioned earlier, the selection was inspired by Lila Ike, as she released her debut EP titled, “The ExPerience” on Friday, May 15. The EP’s final track, “Thy Will“, which was produced by Protoje, samples The Tamlins’ version. The group, consisting of Winston Morgan, Junior Moore, and Carlton “Tamlin” Smith, went on to release more music, and collaborated with various Artists including the late Peter Tosh. Though still active, original member Winston Morgan left in 1983, and was replaced by Derrick Lara who passed away in February 2020.

WE URGE YOU TO STAY SAFE, QUARANTINE WISELY, AND STAY SANITIZED ALWAYS.
