Today’s new mixtape comes from DJ Flipcyide of Wu Worldwide DJ Coalition and Jamaica’s own Junior Reid. Titled “Undeniable“, this is a 25 track compilation of Junior Reid’s international collaborations with major label artists who include Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, Smiff N Wessun, Rick Ross and the Wu-Tang Clan. Popular collaborations included are Alicia Keys’ “No One Remix”, MIMS’ “This Is Why I’m Hot Remix”, The Game’s “It’s Ok” and his own “One Blood” which has been a part of a few collaborations as a sample or redone by the artist. Thanks to his hit “One Blood”, Junior Reid has been the one to call for collaborations over the years from popular artists and that has not slowed down since. Today’s new music comes from a Jamaican One Man Band, Scotty + The DreamKillers. Titled “Keep It Rocking” and features a production from JLA, this features a great Michael Jackson sample (Rock With You) while Scotty raps about chasing his dreams, never slowing down on his work, pushing on despite challenges and keeping it rocking. A great effort here and being a Michael Jackson fan I love this production. For clarification, Scotty + The DreamKillers is really a One Man Band where “Scotty” is the rapper and “JLA” is the producer. Armed with speedy flows and slick rhymes is deejay Jinyus with his new mixtape. Titled “Fast Lane“, Jinyus brings us a 11 track compilation that will show to impress many. Featuring a couple feature verses from SOS Dynamikz and Deewunn and remixes over “Look At Me“, “Mercy” and “Type Of Way“, this “Portmore King” has what it takes to keep up with the best of them. Hip Hop in Jamaica continues to rise with the emergence of new artists who aim to hang with the best of them. Off his new EP “Been A Minute“, Rapper ChronDon released the visuals to his freestyle over Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever” single. Directed by Creezay YGF, Chron hangs out with his friends and drops some bars over the instrumental. ChronDon has been doing his thing for a while and is definitely one to look out for. “Strictly Jamaican when you see me spark“. Dancehall Music and Hip Hop have influenced many the world over but today Jamaican Hip Hop meets Italian Hip Hop thanks to Vaccadon, Jamil and TMO The Militant One with their new video. Titled “Zoo Bwoy“, we hear the artists talk about the lives they live (in their native tongues) and we see Vaccadon and TMO interact with others in a studio while Jamil holds it down with his crew elsewhere. While many may not be fluent in Italian, we can enjoy the visuals and the three rappers’ deliveries. Italy meets Jamaica. What do you think?
