Relationships can be one of the most amazing things, but when it goes bad, it cuts deep for many. It’s never a pretty thing when you give your all, only to be left with hurt. Today, Singer Courtni debuts with “Broke My Heart“. Produced by J Beatz, she shares how the experiences in a bad relationship affect her ability to give her all in a future relationship. She states that no matter how genuine this new man is, and how great his intentions are with her, she refuses to let her guard down for him. It’s never easy to love again when that heartbreak comes in, time is the master though. A member of “Di Vibe”, Courtni steps out and holds her own on this one. Check out the track below.
With close to 30 years in music, Dancehall Artist General Degree is still making the music that will rock you! It has been almost 20 years since his mega hit, “Traffic Blocking”, but today he drops a video for a banger with Terror Squad/YAP Music Recording Artist, Kingston. Titled “A Lil Closer” and directed by Damian Fyfee, the duo mix Dancehall with Pop/R&B, and a whole lot of “Rude Bwoy Loving” for the ladies. The production, provided by Huubanga Productions, will have you bouncing just like the lovely ladies in this visual. A single for the Summer parties, and a video to watch over and over, expect more bangers from the Dancehall Veteran! Watch the video below.
It’s all about the ladies from the Motherland in this one as Singer/Producer Roe Summerz teams up with “Da Big Voice” Edley Shine in “African Girls (Ethiopian Girls)“! Directed by Devin Johnson, we find the duo taking it to the club as they party and get to know some lovely ladies. Roe Summerz delivers the vocals for the beauties, while Edley deejays his way to their hearts. The track is a Shinealous Records release, and is expected to add extra heat this Summer! Edley Shine is of the Born JAmericans and RefixKingz fame, and has been dropping singles over the year through his US based Shinealous Records while Roe Summerz has been producing and collaborating with the likes of GiRL (“High”), and Maticulus Auburn (“All For You”). Check out the video below.
You call them when you want to want a fire beat to go with your lyrics, they help you turn that song into the greatest thing someone has ever heard, they spend hours creating a masterpiece that sounds so good you’re not allowed to add your vocals to it. They are called Beatmakers, Riddim Gods, and more commonly, Producers! Artists can’t live without these people, and at times they don’t get a lot of respect. We at 13th Street Promotions recognize these creatives, and today you’ll get to know 15. Watch this space!
Wavy Jones is a play on the name “Davy Jones”, but he also owns a locker filled with some dope beats! Whether flipping samples on “Locker 1 & 2” or dropping the bass on the Jeeby Lyricist, Blvk H3ro and Kione Zaire featured “100LBS”, Jones is a Producer to check for! Catch him on the next Hidden Fvces or Alpine Compound project!
Whether playing guitar as a part of “Di Vibe” or crafting beats, Kone (Koh Neh) should not be taken lightly. He doesn’t call himself a “Riddim God” for nothing. You’ve enjoyed many of his productions that have been complimented with the vocals of Jamar McNaughton, and he has an arsenal ready to go toe to toe with the best of Producers. Having recently released the “Dub Policy EP”, he’s busy preparing his compilation project titled “Top Works Vol. 1” which will feature his ZincFence Records members Ulo, Jane Macgizmo, and Inezi. You can also hear his work on Chronixx’s “Chronology” album. Get familiar!
Producer Kris Karz’s “Kngly Live” is back with another one! Recently he teamed up with Florida/St. Louis based Singer Ludy for a mashup video which included a live version of her single “Onlyest“, and a cover of Roberta Flack/Lauryn Hill’s (Whichever Artist you prefer) “Killing Me Softly“. Shot by Daniel “DB” Russo and $andy $cribble$, this performance at done at the Monosonic Studios. With Karz on the keys, Ludy lets the vocals flow on the classic R&B single, and her buzzing single that I’ve managed to catch live at an Open Mic event in Miramar, Florida that was hosted by Jamaican Rapper Tazz (More on that later). To hear more of Ludy, check out her “Elephant In The Room” project, and for Kris Karz Productions, check out KnglyStudios.com.
