Today’s video comes in the form of an Interview with Shaggy from the Breakfast Club on NY’s Power 105.1. Here he spoke about some aspects of Jamaica and misconceptions, his start in the music industry, his new album “Out Of Many One Music“, his style of music and many other topics. Interesting Interview from Shaggy although sometimes I was weirded out by the “twang” and the generic questions. That was a crazy story with him and the late James Brown. Today’s new music comes from Junior Reid, Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda and the World Boss Vybz Kartel. Titled “Guns Dem Load” and produced by JR Records, we hear them reaching out to the ghetto youths and letting them know that even though times are hard they don’t have to take the badman route. Ghetto yutes wise up for the world is yours. It’s dread out a road but positive energy is needed. Great hearing three different artists coming together for something good. On tonight’s episode of Onstage, Winford Williams had a chat with Reggae artist Protoje. Here he spoke about his recent tours overseas and the effects on the fans, calling out the government on not fully supporting the music culture of Jamaica, the growth of Reggae music worldwide, why he chose a Reggae career, Edna Manley School of the Visual and Performing Arts and his band IndiggNation. NEW VIDEO: @EddieMurphy x @SnoopLion – Red Light

With Reggae music being a huge influence the world over, it’s no surprise when artists outside of Jamaica taking a crack at it. Two artists that have done so are singer/actor Eddie Murphy and rapper Snoop Dogg/Lion. Titled “Red Light” and directed by John Mazyck, we see Eddie, Snoop and the 1500 or Nothing band jamming to the song along with seeing a young girl walking in her neighbourhood to purchase ice cream while witnessing a few things gone bad which include police arresting a boy and a woman selling her body. Singing is nothing new to the actor as he has released a couple albums and collaborated with the late Rick James and Michael Jackson. Eddie’s album “9” will be released soon. What do you think?
