The Coronavirus is on a world tour, causing mischief at every stop. With safety measures being implemented and parts of the world are forced to be on lockdown, creatives are going through it. That’s what Recording Artists Kim Nain, Qraig Voicemail, and Kandy Leax have been doing, and today we get to hear, “OUTBREAK“.

Produced by Frankie Music Productions, the trio share their thoughts on what’s going on right now, and making observations. OLDIES SUNDAY: Bob Andy – Fire Burning (1974)

On Friday March 27, the legendary Keith “Bob Andy” Anderson C.D. passed away at the age of 75. A great Songwriter and Vocalist, he is considered one of Reggae’s greatest influential figures. He was also the founding member of The Paragons, and Bob and Marcia with the legendary Marcia Griffiths. Today we pay tribute to him with our latest Oldies Sunday selection. Though his collaborations with Marcia Griffiths are some of the most cherished, today we look at one of Bob’s songs that Griffiths covered (which later included a version with Recording ArtistΒ Cutty Ranks), “Fire Burning“.

Released in 1974 through the Wild Flower label, this was produced by Lloyd Charmers. The track finds Bob Andy giving some social commentary on people turning to crime and doing all manner of wrongdoing, and emphasizes that the fire is burning for those involved. The track was featured on his 1975 album, “The Music Inside Me“, and became a hit for him. It was covered by various Artists over the years including the aforementioned Marcia Griffiths.

Thank you for the hit songs Bob Andy, you will be missed while your music lives on!

.@AliciaKeys Calls Up @ChronixxMusic & @Protoje For The “Underdog (Remix)”

Alicia Keys always come through with a motivational song. Having hits since the early 2000s, she has probably done it all. With her “Underdog” single touching many worldwide, it’s only right she did a remix. With Jamaica in mind, she called up Chronixx and Protoje to join her for the “Underdog (Remix)“. Featuring production from Grammy Award winning Producer Izy Beats, and Grammy nominated Producer P2J, the trio join forces and sounds together, and provide the light we need in these seemingly dark times. The world needs a lot of love.

This isn’t Alicia Keys’ first foray into Jamaican collabs, her “You Don’t Know My Name” single was given a Reggae remix, she collaborated with the legendary Junior Reid on the “No One (Remix)“, and who can forget her getting on Cham’sGhetto Story (Chapter 2)“? She has always had a soft spot for Jamaica, and “Underdog (Remix)” may be a sign of a lot more to come. Looks like her cover of Chronixx’s “I Can” made the spark. Nobody can take away your determination!
