Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from the impeccable Ken Boothe. Titled “Everything I Own” and released in 1974 by Trojan Records, this was a cover version of the David Gates penned and Bread performed single which was released in 1972. Ken Boothe put his own reggae twist on the song and laced it with his unique singing style. This song went on to have many other cover versions from artists including Boy George, Rod Stewart, Nicole Sherzinger and *NSYNC. Ken Boothe’s version however is considered the best version.

Hey blogworld, got a new video for you guys. Now I was unaware that Mya had a song out with deejay Spice, now there’s a video. Titled “Take Him Out” and directed by the legendary Rass Kassa, Mya and Spice sing about their frustrations with the men in their lives. Typical unappreciated lover anthem, and the scenes were pretty decent. Seeing Mya pinning clothes to a line was a bit funny but dancing while being surrounded by filled garbage bags and a garbage truck? Weird. Titled “How Deep Is your Love” and features the beautiful Kelly Rowland, this video showcases a couple showing how deep their love is for each other all while Sean, Kelly and a few dancers take over a building with singing and dancing. Alot of couples will like this video, promoting positive relationships and such. Very clean video, who would’ve thought the New York Knicks‘ J.R. Smith made music video cameos (lol..).
