NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTv Interviews @TarrusRileyJA

Today’s episode of Onstage also featured Reggae artist Tarrus Riley. Here he spoke about the media not giving much attention to the revival of the One Drop Reggae movement, his dislike for Dancehall and Reggae being shown as rivals rather than being equals in various aspects in the media, his performance and experience at the Authur Guinness Day concert, wanting Reggae and its other forms to get more respect locally, his recent tour, and performing with Snoop Lion on separate stages. Interesting interview that ended on a great note. I do hope lots of changes are made in the future
for our music. Check out the interview below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

NEW VIDEO: @EddieMurphy x @SnoopLion – Red Light

20130909-104730.jpg
With Reggae music being a huge influence the world over, it’s no surprise when artists outside of Jamaica taking a crack at it. Two artists that have done so are singer/actor Eddie Murphy and rapper Snoop Dogg/Lion. Titled “Red Light” and directed by John Mazyck, we see Eddie, Snoop and the 1500 or Nothing band jamming to the song along with seeing a young girl walking in her neighbourhood to purchase ice cream while witnessing a few things gone bad which include police arresting a boy and a woman selling her body. Singing is nothing new to the actor as he has released a couple albums and collaborated with the late Rick James and Michael Jackson. Eddie’s album “9” will be released soon. What do you think? Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

As a part of his trip to New York for a performance at S.O.B.’s on Wednesday, Reggae artist I Octane made a stop at the Hot 97 studio to have a chat with Cipha Sounds and Shawnee Culture. Here Octane spoke on his style of music, his personality, the Reggae culture, Snoop Dogg or rather Snoop Lion, seeing the need to properly market a Reggae/Dancehall artist, and many other topics. I Octane also gave a brief performance for the listeners. Good to see I Octane on a big station like Hot 97, it’s also great when stations like them play many of our songs. noisey1

Noisey Music is back with another episode of the “Noisey Jamaica Dancehall Show“. In today’s episode Noisey features Reggae star I-Octane. Here Codine Williams showcased I-Octane rehearsing for his performance at Reggae Sumfest and recording dubs at Buju Banton’s Gargamel Studios. Octane also spoke on his upbringing, his interest in music at a young age, his mission to make his music speak volumes and gain further recognition, and being a good influence. Nice Interview, I like that they featured his “We Love The Vibes” single and dropping a exclusive at the end. I wished this interview was longer though.
