While many Jamaican entertainers have added “Author” to their repertoire, Fashion Designer/Blogger Richie Drenz has not only delved into it, he is a best selling Author and spoke about it and more on Onstage. He spoke about his upbringing, success as an Author, how he got his start as a writer, his style of writing, being a big name worldwide, ensuring that his content is something everyone can relate to, his new book “Climaxes“, relaunching his Drenz clothing line, why people think Jamaicans don’t read books and much more. Richie has been making a name for himself for quite a while and it shows with some of the females I have encountered. Check out the videos below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
Dropping off his newest mixtape is Red Square’s own Xyclone. Titled “Almost There” and teaming up with Federation Sound, Xyclone drops a whopping 37 tracks which include dub plates, interludes, old hits and of course his popular “Back Pocket Rag” single and the remix. Xyclone is in a ring facing himself because he is his own competition and with his popularity rising, many will agree and many will try to oppose. It’s all about the fingers, and today Lady Saw drops a new single about them. Titled “Pretty Fingers“, Saw talks about self love, expressing how her fingers know her better than anyone else, and grooming her “best friends” who never deceive her and leave her unhappy over a high energy production. Not a bad effort from the deejay, she gave viewers a heads up about this single a few weeks ago on Onstage so now it’s available for everyone to hear. Today’s new video comes from rising Reggae artist Ataru. Titled “African” and directed by Wayne South, we hear Ataru promoting his African roots, highlights the many places in Africa we could be from, a little history, and attributing his every move to that of an African. Not a bad video here but I love this single, looking forward to more from this artist. Check out the video below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
