It’s all about the children. Incarcerated deejay Vybz Kartel and Gaza Slim team up to show us that children are precious and should be cherished. Titled “Children Are Our Future” and produced by So Unique Records, Gaza Slim covers the lyrics to the late Whitney Houston “The Greatest Love of All” while Kartel deejays that he is against all who threaten and hurt children. The Gully God Mavado made his way to the Onstage set to have a chat with host Winford Williams. He also brought Canadian based singer Karian Sang along for the Interview. Here Karian spoke on her start in her career, her achievements, being from Kingston Jamaica, how she met Mavado, her future projects and many other issues. Mavado spoke to Winford about his life in the United States, handling family life, his projects locally and Internationally, his Issues with mentor Bounty Killa, and he also performed his current singles with Karian Sang. Codine Williams hosts yet again another episode in the Noisey Music series “Noisey Jamaica Dancehall Show“. In this episode Vybz Kartel’s “son” Popcaan was featured. Here they followed Popcaan to see him rehearse before Reggae Sumfest, then to see him and many partrons celebrate his birthday party. I like that his music is being promoted during the video and people are vocal that they love his music. A word of advice: DO NOT make a video of Shabba Ranks without his permission. Snoop Dogg, in collaboration with Noisey Music, produced a series on the music scene in Jamaica called “Noisey Jamaica Dancehall Show“. Hosted by Codine Williams, the first episode features currently Incarcerated artist, Vybz Kartel. Here they speak on his impact on Dancehall culture the world over, his current challenges, reactions from his fans, and they also show activities that were held in his hometown. Not bad for the first episode, they even have a voicenote from Kartel as well. Looking forward to what else this series has to offer, that man and his “twang” though. After interviewing Black Ryno last week, Popcaan’s turn to sit with Winford Williams was well anticipated. On tonight’s Onstage episode Popcaan cleared the air on being bottled at a stage show in Zimbabwe, his well talked about incident with Black Ryno at Sting, his love for Vybz Kartel, Tommy Lee and his future endeavors.
