Since March 2025, we premiered a new weekly Playlist called, “What’s On 13th Street?“. Since then, we have featured over 800 new songs from Artists in and outside the Caribbean. Some are your faves, others are legends in the game, and some newcomers. Please show your support for the Playlist by liking/following it on Spotify, share with your friends regularly, and enjoy!

This week for “What’s On 13th Street?“, Ayetian delivered his “JamPack” project, Ziggi Recado after many years released the “Elevation” project, Bella Blair returned with “Tired Of You”, Canada-based DJ Blkluos and Shema dropped “Lunch For Two”, Nigeria’s Mr. Eazi linked with Vybz Kartel for “Lambo”, Trini’s Paris Coutain stepped out with “Beat It”, The Valkyries Of Arcadia blended Dancehall and KPop with “Candy Rush”, and more.

The “What’s On 13th Street?” Playlist is now available for streaming on Spotify.

Jahmiel Delivers Some Of His Best Work With “Against All Odds”

Recording Artist Jahmiel is a veteran in music, and he has put in a lot of work to be where he is. With a catalogue that gets love locally and Internationally, he continues to build on it, and improve through tapping into new sounds and collaborating with new Artists. Recently, he celebrated another milestone with the release of his newest album, “Against All Odds“.

Featuring 15 tracks, Jahmiel delivers some of his best work with the “Against All Odds” album. A follow up to 2024’s “Nirvana” album, Jahmiel gives us motivational music, as he always ensures to share music with positive messages. Sweet Music Productions and Emudio Records are onboard to deliver the sounds for the powerful lyrics, while the likes of Yohan Marley, Nhance, Charly Black, Jahshii, and Masicka join the project with guest features. Some will say Jahmiel is underrated, and that’s fine. With his growing catalogue, he’s known around the world as a great Man.

People will sometimes say your best work is your old work, and that may be true for many Artists who have classic projects and singles. Dancehall Artist Ai Milly however, has evolved into many forms over the years, and the fans enjoy all the iterations. There are some however who enjoy the older phases more, and today Milly caters to them with the release of his “Old Milly” project.

Featuring 17 tracks, Ai Milly goes back in time with his fans for his “Old Milly” project. His catalogue may not always hit the mainstream, but his core fanbase loves every release, and keeps the numbers high for them. The melodies are there, it’s still trap business, and the colour will always be purple. Dethwrld, Krushflo, Spenzout, Sinnalink, Ell Dunce, Thamo Don, and 1Stop Entertainment are just some of the Producers who delivered the sounds on the new project, with a release through DethWrld Records, Krush Flo Records, and Catalog Music Group. The floor is all Milly’s, it’s his world after all. This one is for the fans, and the “Purple Dem“.

OLDIES SUNDAY: J.O.E. – Rasta Chant (2011)

Jamaican music has welcomed a plethora of Recording Artists over the decades, with many securing their place in the scene with timeless music. Unfortunately, there are many who never got to meet their greatest potential, but still left behind some memorable bits that lives on. Today, ahead of his 40th birthday, we highlight the late J.O.E. a.k.a. Lil Joe a.k.a. Jah Ova Evil on “Oldies Sunday“. We go back in time to check out, “Rasta Chant“.

Produced by Equiknoxx Music and released in 2011, J.O.E. holds a firm meditation in, “Rasta Chant”. He sings his praise to The Most High here, shares his day to observations, and maintains a mindset that won’t find him caught up in negativity and corruption. At the end of the day, he’s covered. The track was previewed at live events, gaining a lot of positive feeback for the Artist, and over time became one of his much-loved releases. “Rasta Chant” would be featured on J.O.E.’s posthumous debut album, “Man From Judah“.

Since the release of “Rasta Chant”, J.O.E.’s name would be kept alive with the help of many of his peers and family members. He passed away in February 2011 due to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm, just months before the May release of the single. Many remember him as one of the Artists who was on the cusp of a very flourishing career, but his health declined those opportunities. J.O.E.’s legacy continues to reach to new ears, and has inspired many including Reggae Artist Chronixx, who was a friend of J.O.E. It’s still Jah Ova Evil.

Ayetian Aims To “JamPack” The Party With New Project

What’s summer without Dancehall music? Not much really. Today, we’re getting you ready for the party with new music. Over the past few years, Dancehall Artist Ayetian has been steadily building his name. With the mid-2020s finding his career boosted thanks to a number of hit singles, he has secured the spot where winning is a normal thing. With the hot season finding him hitting the road and rocking crowds, it’s only right he gives the fans a collection of tunes to keep in regular rotation. Earlier, he premiered his new project, “JamPack“.

Consisting of 16 songs, Ayetian wants everyone to feel his energy, and party away to his new “JamPack” Mixtape. The project was announced a few weeks ago, and fans were heavily anticipating this one. Ayetian’s signature energy and vibe are here, expanding his sound, even getting into some Kreyòl vibes and the ladies are going to really love this one. Production on “JamPack” includes TrapMilli Entertainment, Lifestyle Musik Group, Spaj Phoenix Records, Countree Hype, Silent Addy, Disco Neil, DJ Mac, Crash Dummy, and Slingerz, while friends like Skillibeng, Stefflon Don, Ky-Mani Marley, Tony Mix, and Kodak Black join in on the fun. When Jamaicans get into something new, we try to own it. Girl group Valkyries Of Arcadia took over screens of every kind, bring a vibe wherever they show up, and now are taking on the music scene. The group consists of Empr3ss Nile, SilverN3ko, Zuri San, Quani, and Buggie, and while they dominate the cosplay, beauty, and gaming arenas, they see music as the next big step. The group makes their debut for 2026 with, “Candy Rush“.

Released through V.O.A. Studios, the Valkyries Of Arcadia seek to stand out with their pre-single, “Candy Rush”. As the title suggests, it’s all about sweet things and treats here as the girls are just having fun on the track. With the K-Pop wave finding its way onto our shores since its debut, the V.O.A. found inspiration there, and decided to open the door for a new subgenre called JAM-Pop, a mix of K-Pop, Pop Music, and Dancehall. The lyrics may not blow you away and the overall production and direction of the track may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but when we Jamaicans try out something, there will be stumbles before it gets great. “Candy Rush” has commercial promise, as parts of the song could be used to promote products, and the ladies are no strangers to the promotion game. The track is for all ages, especially for the children as it brings a fun and exciting vibe, and for us older ones, it will take some of us back to the popular “I’m a Kool Kid” track that promoted Kool Kidz juices.

With everything sweet, “Candy Rush” was inspired by LOL Snackstop, a popular confectionery store located in Halfway Tree, and one of the main sponsors of the Valkyries Of Arcadia. The track serves as paying homage to the company, and furthering the connection as they enjoy a lengthy partnership. The track has been met with mixed reviews since its official release, but that’s just the rite of passage many Creatives go through when they’re just starting out, and the V.O.A. crew is not exempt from that. For the fans, be sure to keep this in rotation, and with the right direction, the V.O.A. will knock it out the park with the next release.
