Circa Eleven Starts The Party Early With 3 New Releases

Production Duo Circa Eleven has been putting in the work over the years, and they’re not slowing down on the output. Last year they secured a number of collaborations, and even released a Christmas EP. This time around, they’re throwing parties, and they want to start early with 3 new releases from JayYGT, Gio Mar, Brush 1, and 1CDon.

Circa Eleven released “Mamacita” with 1CDon, “Give It To Me” with JayYGT and Gio Mar, and “Waistline” with Brush 1 and Gio Mar, and listeners have been tuning in. Circa tapped into 3 genres this time around, Dancehall, Soca, and Dembow. On “Give It To Me”, JayYGT and Gio Mar deliver something spicy for the ladies, Brush 1 and Gio Mar aim to get the ladies dancing in the Fete on the energetic “Waistline”, and 1CDon goes bilingual with the lyrics for the ladies in “Mamacita”. In the end, Circa Eleven threw a party that was made for everybody. They continue to showcase their diversity, and we can expect even more stand out collaborations later this year. Whatever your flavour, just get the speakers ready, and press play!

OLDIES SUNDAY: Jimmy Cliff – We All Are One (1983)

It’s Reggae Month in Jamaica, and we continue to show respect to those who have contributed to the further development and success of Reggae on “Oldies Sunday“. Today’s entry highlights a Jamaican Rockstar who helped to set the standard. We look back at Jimmy Cliff, and his track, “We All Are One“.

Produced by Amir Bayyan, Jim Bonnefond, and Ronald Bell and released through Columbia/CBS in 1983, Jimmy Cliff promoted unity in “We All Are One”. Cliff reminds us that despite our race, age, culture, and nationality, we are all human with similar qualities and features at the end of the day, and we should treat each other better. Cliff delivers melodies over some solid production that taps into Reggae and Pop sounds, and “We All Are One” quickly became a hit for him. The single was featured on Cliff’s GRAMMY-nominated 1983 album, “The Power And The Glory“. Jimmy Cliff was one of the Artists who helped in bringing Reggae to International popularity in the early stages, and has inspired many around the world.

Since the release of “We All Are One”, Jimmy Cliff went on to release more music. He is a 2 time GRAMMY winner, was given the Order of Merit by the Government of Jamaica, was assigned as a Peace Ambassador for the United Nations, has been a part of many Humanitarian campaigns, and continues to contribute to the extension of Reggae music around the world. “We All Are One” remains one of his memorable hits.

Thank You Jimmy Cliff For This Classic!

It was only right this was going to happen. After a controversial episode with Beenie Man, the Drink Champs team had to follow up with a guest that has been requested for quite some time. .@OneKacique Needs No New Friends In “Light”

Dancehall Artist Kacique has accomplished a few things in life, and is grateful for the success he has received so far. He has worked hard for what he wanted, and he’s not about to let anyone nor anything take it away. He has a new policy that he shares with the world in, “Light“.

Produced by OneSpinn/Kaboom Music, Kacique has a “No New Friends” policy to enforce in his “Light” single. For those who think that they can get in on Kacique’s success, that door has been closed to all outsiders. To all the Women who rejected him on his come up and now want to be all over him, that access will be denied. The Deejay has a few choice words for those people, and he will keep it moving as he continues to elevate his life. It’s nothing new when success breeds new friends, but not every friend is a real one, and the real day ones are those who will get their blessings. Kacique continues to keep the Studio and streets busy, and you can expect even more from him later this year.

Maticulus "Bloody Sleeve" on 13thStreetPromotions.com #Jamaica #Reggae #Jazz #Soul #Music #13thStreetPromotions #Maticulus #MaticulusAuburn #BloodySleeve #Caribbean

.@MaticulusAuburn Returns With New Single, “Bloody Sleeve”

Recording Artist Maticulus Auburn (sometimes shortened to just “Maticulus”) has been one of those Artists that wasn’t afraid to stand out. Even when the majority is focusing on one type of sound, he would test the waters of something different, and it showed in his releases over the years. Coming back to the scene after a short break, he shares the new track, “Bloody Sleeve“.

Produced by Jofis Beats, Maticulus Auburn gets experimental in, “Bloody Sleeve”. The song finds him expressing how it feels when the one you’ve been loving decides to walk away. He speaks about how her love made his house a happy home, the times that mean’t the world to him, and how important it was to have her in his life. Now that she’s leaving, everything comes crashing down, and he’s not in the best of feelings. Maticulus tries a different style this time around, and it fits him well. We may just get more music in this style, and possibly a project. With Valentine’s Day coming up, there will be a number of us who will be absent from the festivities, as we’ve experienced hurt, heartbreak, betrayal, and loss in other forms. Some will find themselves scrolling down timelines, others will get caught up in other activities. There will be some of us, like Maticulus in the song, who will be reminiscing on that lost love.
