With a career spanning over 30 years, Maxi Priest was one of acts who had a brilliant run with fusing Reggae Music with R&B. Tonight on a special edition of Onstage, Winford Williams had a chat with the artist. Here he spoke on his upbringing in the UK, his love for music and his influences, challenges he has faced growing up and during the start of his career, how his first hit came about and being the first British Reggae act to score a #1 in the US, stardom locally and internationally, and many more. Great interview here as we get to look at Maxi’s background and journey through his extensive career. He also premiered a new music video for his “Easy To Love” single. Such a great artist. Today’s new video comes from Andrew Trabass and Lincoln 3Dot. Titled “FAME” and directed by Dante Hillmedo, we hear the artists speaking on fame and all that comes with it and see them being shot in various locations. Not a bad effort here as the song is already good and I like that clips from them being at events were shown. Do it for the VLOG! On January 25, 2014, Jamaicans were treated to the staging of “Pay Attention“, a Hip Hop concert series held at Club Indulge (South Beach Cafe). Hosted by The Sickest Drama, performances included The Rush, K John, Five Steez and Kabaka Pyramid.
After premiering the remix last year, Lady Saw and Flo Rida finally released the video treatment for their collaboration. “Heels On (Remix)” was directed by Evan Winter and shows alot of sensuality between various couples while Saw and Flo tell you how they want to love and be loved. A great effort here as the video has a white, gold and black theme to go along with the sensuality. Will Lady Saw make another banger like “Heels On” this year?
