Pay Attention is a bi-monthly Hip Hop concert series that is held in Kingston Jamaica that promotes the Jamaican Hip Hop culture. This event featured many well known acts including Five Steez, Sly Rankin, Kabaka Pyramid and Acmatic. In efforts for upcoming or established acts to be a part of the movement there are certain guidelines that need to be met. Dropping new music today is Jamaica’s Acmatic. Titled “Bottom Of The Bank” and produced by PlateFace and backup vocals from Sevana, we hear lyrics about dealing with expenses, sending family members to a psych ward, frustrations and washing away sorrows with alcohol. Many people in Jamaica are going through a few things especially when it comes to the cost of living. With new taxes, higher prices on even basic necessities and no increase in salary, many can’t handle it and take to the bottle to temporarily relieve that stress. Getting you ready for the Carnival season is Acmatic with something new! Titled “Backdrop“, we get a little story from King Lopo about meeting a girl at the Road March and proceeding to dance with her. Later down the ladies are then instructed to make the song their own and let their booty “Backdrop“. Great effort from the crew as this sounds ready for all the Road Marches and Soca related events.
