We were due a new project from Dancehall Artist Aidonia. The past few years saw a couple announcements, but a lot has been going on for the Deejay. He has been dealing with loss, and creating and performing through grieving times, but he has been seeing a ray of light in his dark times, and he reached for it. With plenty positives happening for him, he has decided to go on a hiatus to focus on what’s important to him other than the music. Before he steps down however, he gives us the new project, “Occupied Mind“.

The 23-track “Occupied Mind” was announced some time ago, and is a compilation of some of Aidonia’s previous releases along with some new tunes. Aidonia has always delivered solid music, and his diversity continues throughout the project. Production includes the likes of his Banga House MG imprint, Emudio, Haunted House, Darshan, Mill Beatz, and others. While Aidonia is no stranger to collaborations, Govana is his sole collaborator on this project (Hopefully we can get their “Brother’s Keeper” collab project in the future). Aidonia has given us 20 years of dedicated service, he deserves his time away. Let’s all enjoy this “Occupied Mind”.

For over a decade, Dancehall Artist Masicka has grown from an upcoming Artist, to a young legend in Jamaican music. 2021 saw his career elevate to a new level with the release of his debut album, “438“. The critically-acclaimed project quickly built up anticipation for a follow up, and the Deejay promised to fulfill the request in due time. He announced his signing to the iconic Def Jam Records this past Spring, and went straight to work. Today, the finished work has arrived in the form of the new album, “Generation Of Kings“.

Featuring 17 tracks, Masicka looks to deliver another classic with the release of “Generation Of Kings”. Making his major label debut with Def Jam Records, the “Genahsyde Boss” is ready for the takeover. The Deejay gives us his usual great music for the ladies, the Gangstas, and the yutes here over solid production, but shows the listener that he has matured a lot in his career. Production include the likes of Dunw3ll, Mozeeko, Boi1da, and Fortune. Like his previous album, he brought along a few friends including Spice, Dexta Daps, Lila Ike, Chronic Law, Popcaan, Fave, and Fridayy. The conversation has already started about “G.O.K.” possibly being better than “438”, and while we won’t contribute to that, we encourage you to celebrate another milestone from an Artist dedicated to his craft. 1Syde till the land slide.

The past few years have seen a rise in Jamaican Artists releasing EPs and albums. Some have blessed the Artists with many opportunities locally and Internationally, and others have become award winners. Artists like Zagga knew early on the importance of making albums a part of his catalogue. He has released 2 so far, and is going for the gold the 3rd time around with “Energy Never Lie“.

Featuring 12 tracks and released through Amini Music, Zagga steps out with positive messages, strong deliveries, and an array of different sounds for the “Energy Never Lie” album. The Artist has something for those who need a dose of positive energy, something for those who need to dance, something for the ladies, and contributions that will help to break the negative mindsets around the world. Production on the new album include the likes of 1Royalty Ent., Shakespeare, Extol Music, Wikid Media Music, Collect Di Bred Ent., Amini Music. Zagga holds his own for the most part, but invited friends like Moyann, Jahshii, and IWaata for a few tracks. Zagga has been deemed as an underrated Artist, but thanks to his consistency, more people are becoming more aware of him and his gifts. Energy never lied on this one.

Buju Banton is more than an Artist. A Jamaican Icon who has solidified his position for decades, nothing could stop him from making great music. Life has been good for him lately, and it’s only right that he steps out with new music. He gives us the new album, “Born For Greatness“.

Featuring 17 tracks, Buju Banton shows us why he is a Jamaican music legend. “Born For Greatness” follows up his GRAMMY-nominated “Upside Down 2020” album, and is a project that shows some of the many sides of the Gargamel. Lyrics are on point as usual here, and Buju cruises effortlessly over production by Stephen Marley, Dunw3ll, Michaël Brun, Jermaine Reid, DJ Khaled, and more. Snoop Dogg, Victoria Monét, and Stephen Marley show up on the album, and delivered greatly with Buju. Buju Banton has given us classics for decades, a few more won’t hurt. Get your speakers ready.

Beenie Man is a King of Dancehall. Love him or hate him, he is the greatest Dancehall Entertainer, and he has plenty moments at stage shows, and attendees to vouch for that. With over 40 years in music, it’s still crazy that a former child star not named Michael Jackson has made his name transcend generations. In 2021, Beenie shared that he would release a new album. After a few delays, he has finally liberated “Simma“.

“Simma” features 20 tracks, and it finds Beenie Man still holding his own in Dancehall Music. Never one to stay boxed in, he tries out a few different styles for this album. Whether your taste is the traditional Dancehall/Reggae, or even the new wave of NY and UK Drill, Beenie has something for everyone. Production on “Simma” include the likes of Suku, Dutty Rock Productions, Walshy Fire, The FaNaTiX, Frankie Music, Tony Kelly, and Teddy Riley. Beenie shares the album with a number of friends including Giggs, Popcaan, PatoranKing, Busy Signal, Ms. Banks, Sean Paul, StoneBwoy, Mÿa, and more.
