Featuring UK Artist Miss LaFamilia, and DJ Lara Fraser from Australia, Camidoh and Vybz Kartel bring the vibes on “Taxi Man”. Over production by StreetBeatz, Toddla T, and Mix Pro, it’s a blend of melodies, clever lyrics, and what a Taxi Man is capable of when he gets into “Mr. Steal Your Girl” mode. A collaboration like this is needed like an Ontime Taxi after a party, and it continues to show that Afrobeats and Dancehall will always click, and the sounds will always be global. Definitely a hit for all involved. Follow up this one.

Dropping off the first single off his upcoming “Olympus EP” is the Youngest x Baddest member, DJ Ariez. Here he remixes the Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX single, “Fancy“. Throwing his own production to the track, Ariez adds more hype to the Australian Rapper’s hit. Not a bad effort here from the DJ as remixing popular singles isn’t a rare thing in Jamaica and has been known to be a hit at parties. This generation rules the nation with version! Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from British Child Reggae Band, Musical Youth. Titled “Pass The Dutchie” and produced by Peter Collins in 1982, this is a song about facing extreme poverty. This song was redone version of the Mighty Diamonds’ hit “Pass The Kutchie” which was a song about smoking Marijuana. In the redone version, “Kutchie” was replaced with “Dutchie“, which was the name of a cooking pot.
