Hip Hop Artist Shyne has been through a lot these past few years. From being a top Rapper on the Infamous Bad Boy Records, to serving part of a 10 year Prison sentence, to converting to Judaism, he now looks at resurrecting his music career and even dabble in Politics. During the Reggae Sumfest festivities he visited Jamaica, made his presence felt, and held a conversation with Winford Williams of Onstage TV. Here he reflected on his past, working with DJ/Producer Supa Hype, his upbringing, his Father Dean Barrow, Prime Minister of Belize and looking to follow in his footsteps in Politics, showing love to Vybz Kartel and Buju Banton, and more. He also joined Barrington Levy last night at Reggae Sumfest and delivered his hit singles. @MrLevy411 Collabs With @Supreme_NYC X Jah Life!

New York based Streetwear Brand Supreme recently teamed up with Reggae Crooner Barrington Levy and Reggae Producer Hyman “Jah Life” Wright for a new line of Clothing for their Summer ’16 collection. Wright, who along with Henry “Junjo” Lawes, were the Producers who contributed to the rise of Barrington Levy’s career from the late 70’s to the 80’s. Together they’ve helped to create timeless albums such as “Bounty Hunter“, “Englishman“, and “Robin Hood” which spawned many hits for the young Levy. Supreme is no stranger to the Caribbean as they have worked with DJ/Director/Style Icon Va$htie who is of Trinidadian Heritage, and had a line that featured the late Jamaican Recording Artist Sugar Minott. The new line features a hooded Sweatshirt, 3 T-shirts and a Tank top highlighting the original artwork for Levy’s previously mentioned albums, and a shirt featuring H.I.M. Haile Selassie I. The collection will be available in New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris and online on June 16 while it hits Japan on June 18.

Straight out of Lagos, Nigeria, is Hip Hop Artist, Phlow. Here she delivers a remix to her single “Reputation“. Produced by Teck-Zilla, this features the Rapper dropping bars over a sample, drum and horn assisted production. The samples however, come in the form of vocals from Recording Artist Barrington Levy, Reggae Artist Johnny Osbourne’s 1982 single “In Your Eyes“, and Rapper Lauryn Hill’s “Lost Ones“. Bringing elements of Reggae really made this single pop as the original featured a sample from Jay-Z’s “Where I’m From“. Today’s new music comes from two veterans in Dancehall Music, Barrington Levy and Mr. Vegas. Titled “Love The Way She Love” and produced by Black Roses and Platinum Camp, we hear the two artists showing love and appreciation for their significant others. This single is a part of Barrington Levy’s first album in 20 years, “Licensed To Thrill“. This is not the first time I’m hearing Mr. Levy on autotune but it’s cool that he embraces modern styles and the collaboration with Mr. Vegas isn’t bad. What do you think?
