Over the years we’ve heard Reggae/Dancehall Artist I-Octane on various tunes, but today he steps in the EDM lane with the remix to his hit single, “Fallin’“. Produced by DRWTHVN and Dev Kutta out of Guyana, this is the lead single off their upcoming “The Foundation“ Compilation project. Bringing EDM home to the Caribbean, Octane’s unique vocals is a great match for the Production. Look out for “The Foundation” as DRWTHVN, Jus D., Kick Raux, Dev Kutta, Noise Cans, and Quefa Don will join the list of Producers on the project. Being one of the top Hip Hop acts in North America, Kardinal Offishall has always reached out to the land of his heritage, Jamaica. From collaborating with top Dancehall acts to incorporating Dancehall styles in his songs, Kardinal always managed to keep a close link to Canada and Jamaica. Tonight on Onstage he spoke about his new position at Universal Music, his recent nomination at the JUNO Awards, his upbringing, collaborating with Bounty Killa that gave him his break in Jamaica, promoting new music on the island, and creating a movement to help Caribbean artists, designers, and producers to bring their talent to a larger audience. Great interview here, Kardinal also premiered the music video for his “Tattoo/Rude Bwoy” single which was shot in Jamaica. I commend him for donating to the Clonmel Primary and Junior High as well.
