.@Kris_Karz, Trust Deliver A Beautiful Cover Of @ThunderCat’s “Them Changes”

Jamaican Producer Kris Karz has been keeping himself busy lately. With the launch of his Kngly Studios Brand and Website, he’s churning out dope Productions for various Artists. Recently he teamed up with Singer Trust to cover Producer/Musician/Singer Thundercat’s 2015 single, “Them Changes“. With Kris handling the Piano duties, Trust delivers the lyrics in a beautiful Acoustic set that I guarantee will bring a brighter mood with every listen. While the Funk influenced original is a dope listen, this Acoustic cover with a little Rap is just fitting on this Sunday afternoon. NEW MUSIC: @RasI_Musique x @King_Mundo10 x @Sincerely.Zo – Satisfy My Soul (Cover)

Something new courtesy of Ras-I, Almando Douglas and Zosia McGregor. Reviving the 1978 classic, “Satisfy My Soul” by Bob Marley, the stage is set for an acoustic performance from the three. With a mellow vibe and soulful delivery from Ras-I, it’s no surprise when there are comparisons to the original “Gong“. With Zosia’s sweet vocals and Douglas’ Guitar performance adding to the track, this calls for lighters flicking and hits from the chalice! Did this satisfy your soul? OLDIES SUNDAY: Alton Ellis – Willow Tree (1967)

After dropping Raine Seville’s “Willow Tree” yesterday, I felt it was only right to play one of the original songs. Today I feature a song by the late Alton Ellis a.k.a. the GodFather of Rocksteady. Titled “Willow Tree” and produced by Coxsone Records in 1967, this was a cover of Chuck Jackson’s “My Willow Tree” which was done in 1962 but never made it to the music charts. This song is about finding new song all while sparing the “Willow Tree” from sharing the pain of past failed relationships.

NEW MUSIC: @RaineSeville – Willow Tree

willow tree

Today’s new music comes from singer Raine Seville. Titled “Willow Tree” and produced by Locke City Music Group, this is a cover version of the late Alton Ellis’ 1967 single of the same name with a little twist. This song is about finding new love and sparing the “Willow Tree” from crying  for Raine’s past experiences. As the lyrics say once a tear has fallen, the willow tree weeps eternally but Raine  made it clear that she won’t cry over past associates and shall move on with her life. A good effort from Raine, fresh off her controversial single with Konshens, this single hears her saluting a legend and her being able to move on from situations. What you think of the song? Check it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Garnet Silk – Mama (1992)

In celebration of Mothers’ Day I feature another song as a tribute to mothers, this time it’s done by the late Garnet Silk. Titled “Mama” and produced by Courtney Cole in 1992, this was a cover version of Clarence Carter’s hit “Patches” which was done in 1970. “Patches” was also a cover of Chairmen of the Board’s hit which was also done in 1970. In the song Garnet sings about his mom being there for him all his life and even though his father died when he was very young his mom played both parental roles. He also sang about working hard to take care of his mom in return.
