Look Out For These Dope Female Artists In 2018!

In our “2018 Predictions” post, we predicted that there will be more Women making their way onto the Caribbean Music scene. In an Industry that hasn’t always been kind to the Female Artist, we have enjoyed the works from many over the years, but we have also asked for some who can step outside the box and give us music that’ll blow us away! The following Artists have been slowly making their name out there for some time, and aim to be mentioned along with their established peers.

1. Chronixx wins the “Best Reggae Album” Grammy

With the 60th Grammy Awards coming up later this month, many Artists and viewers will be tuned in to see if their favourite will be carrying home a shiny prize. In Reggae music, we predict that the “Dread & Terrible” Artist, Chronixx, will carry home the award for “Best Reggae Album” for his project “Chronology”. This win will see him beating out fellow nominees like Damian Marley, Morgan’s Heritage, J Boog, and Common Kings! This would be a huge look for the Artist, and give the album even more attention. Maybe a Grammy tour as well? Let’s see.

2. Vybz Kartel will be successful in his Appeal hearing.

Since 2011, we’ve heard the phrase “Free Kartel!”, and it will not stop anytime soon. Vybz Kartel has more than a cult following, and it doesn’t help when he can still release songs while incarcerated. It was reported over the past couple years that his Defense team will file an appeal in the conviction of Kartel and 3 of his associates who are all serving life sentences. Despite numerous delays, it was reported that his hearing will be held in July 2018. If he wins, things might be shaken up a bit. Free Ninja Man too.
