Eddy G Bomba Shares Video For “Village”

Last May, Dancehall Artist Eddy G Bomba released his EP, “The World Is On Fire“. Since then, he has been campaigning, and fans have been showing love. Still one of the Artists who stands out with his flow, he looks to stay consistent for the year with new content. Earlier, he dropped the visual for, “Village (Mercury)“.

Directed by Golden Image, Eddy G Bomba is still about getting to the money, and staying on top of things with his crew in the video for, “Village”. Produced by 100Spitta/Elektrik Records/Jammy, the track is the opener for “The World Is On Fire” EP. In 2025 he released his debut album “The World Is Yours“, and may just follow up with another project before the year ends. Eddy G keeps the world burning.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Chevelle Franklyn – Here I Am (1989)

The month of May being “Child Month” is coming to a close. Today on “Oldies Sunday“, we highlight a time when young folks take on arguments they have no business being in. It comes in the form of a song in this case. Today, we go back into time to check out a young Chevelle Franklyn, and her track “Here I Am“.

Produced by Rohan Harrison and Arnold Edwards and released through the Rhage Records in 1989, we find a Teenage Chevelle Franklyn (then known as Chevelle) taking on the role of a Woman who is in love with a married Man in, “Here I Am”. Released at age 16, the song showcased a young star in the making with a powerful voice, and who had promise of a successful music career. “Here I Am” was beyond Chevelle’s years in subject matter, but it catapulted her into stardom quickly. The song topped the JBC Radio One Top 30 charts, the RJR Top 40 music charts, and put the Singer on a winning streak as she scooped up a number of awards, made her a household name, and opened doors which included collaborations with Shabba Ranks, Spragga Benz, Beenie Man, and later scoring an International Record Deal with Island Jamaica.

Since the release of “Here I Am”, Chevelle Franklyn made strides in music. In the late 1990s, she stepped away to focus on her faith. She would return to the scene shortly after as a Gospel Singer, enjoying success in that lane. Despite the changes in her life, many still remember that little girl who made her debut on the scene signing about big people tings. “Here I Am” continues to be well-loved by many.

When a Woman wants good loving, she has to get it from the right Man. US Rapper Freddie Gibbs is a Man of many things, but when it comes to the Women, he’s putting a special emphasis on them. He premiered his latest EP, “RBT” earlier, and while he continues to showcase his signature flow and lyrics, he had to do something for the ladies. He makes it extra special on the track, “Axxtion“.

Produced by Thurst and VA and samples Mad Cobra’s 1992 classic “Flex“, Freddie Gibbs knows it’s time to have fun with the ladies in, “Axxtion”. Rapping between the vocal samples and Instrumental, Gibbs makes something that will have the ladies intrigued. This isn’t his first time tapping into Jamaican music as he sampled Yami Bolo and Super Beagle, and even collaborated with Agent Sasco and Popcaan. “Flex” was produced by Clifton “Specialist” Dillon and Sly Dunbar, and has been sampled plenty of times over the years with the likes of Rihanna, Fifth Harmony, Janelle Monae, Justin Bieber, and Fabolous on that list. We hope they do the right thing and credit Mad Cobra, Specialist, and the late Sly Dunbar. Speaking of Mad Cobra, we received news that he met in a Motor vehicle accident in Florida. He is in stable condition, and we hope he recovers well.

Fresh off of premiering the official release of “Mr. Krabs” yesterday, Dancehall Artist Top Banks keeps the consistency going with new music. The Manchester-based Deejay has been growing in popularity even more over these past few weeks, and he strongly believes that he will hold a significant place in the Dancehall hemisphere. With co-signs from the likes of Squash, Valiant, and Skippa, he’s staying focused, and working hard. Earlier, he released, “Go Shorty“.

Produced by Steel Chest/Bigz Milli Records/YTMulti, Top Banks is in a celebratory mood in, “Go Shorty”. This is for the Women who enjoy being the centre of attention on the dance floor, and if it’s your birthday, Banks is sending a drink and good vibes your way. The track borrows some inspiration from 50 Cent’s classic “In Da Club” single, but he and Steel Chest bring their own appeal here, ensuring that when it’s played in the street, every other party gets shut down. The Deejay looks to celebrate his birthday next month in Mandeville, and he’s inviting everyone to come out and show some love. Top Banks is putting in the work, and soon the rest of the crowd will be paying attention. While he gets love on Social Media and the “Clipping” creators are busy putting together content from his livestreams, he’s still working on the music that will in turn put him in a different financial bracket. His aim is to be very rich, something like “Mr. Krabs“.

Produced by DJ Mac/Crash Dummy, Top Bank has his focus on Wealth, and he wants the life changing money in, “Mr. Krabs”. For those who are familiar with “Spongebob Squarepants“, you know how Mr. Krabs gets when it comes to the money, and Banks wants to get on the level where his dollars speak for him. Think it tek bwoy fi gi weh Millions? He follows up the single with a music video directed by Kreative Klique, and when he hits the street, it’s all about the money. Even the Cops are looking for a handout. Top Banks continues to keep it entertaining with his music and visual content, and his audience continues to support him every step of the way. Even his song previews are going viral. “Mr. Krabs” was one of those previews that did numbers on TikTok, so for it to be official will do something for the streaming platforms.
