First off, R.I.P. to the Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin! The news of her passing was quite a shock worldwide, but she’s in a better place while her music lives on. She has been an inspiration for many all over the world, and in turn many have credited her, and covered her work. If you know the music scene in Jamaica, there were a few who’ve managed to cover the late Queen. Today, we let you in on six Aretha Franklin cover songs done by Jamaicans. NEW MUSIC: @RoyceDa59 x @BlackThought x @AgentSasco – Rap On Steroids

Last night, Detroit Rapper Royce Da 5’9″ premiered his “Trust The Shooter EP” with fans rejoicing. With a 12 track set, many were prepared for deadly bars. What we didn’t expect was “Rap On Steroids“, a track that features Philly’s own Black Thought…and Jamaica’s own Agent Sasco! Produced by Jahlil Beats, Royce delivers hard punches to the gut, Black Thought sends jabs to the ribs and Sasco delivers the uppercuts with his Dancehall delivery. A surprise to many as Sasco has been making moves on the low over the years, although I wish he dropped 16 or even 32 bars. Maybe Royce has a few tricks up his sleeve on his upcoming “Layers” album. Produced by the Rapper, he shows love to Nigeria, the birthplace of his parents, and promises to stunt when he’s back there. With the blend of Hip Hop and Afrobeat, Chisom paints the visuals on the West African culture, food and fashion.
