Brooklyn Rapper Hop Cashay (Formerly Hop Da Great) is planning to drop his new mixtape this summer. Titled “Preconceived Notion: The Unusual Gift“, Hop drops off the trailer for it which features him talking about the greats like Michael Jackson, Prince, Tupac Shakur, Jay-Z, and Biggie Smalls. He also previewed his single “New York” at the end. Known for making thought provoking music, this mixtape could be something you pick up when it drops on August 1. NEW MUSIC: @RaineSeville x @KingBeenieMan – You Choose

Today’s new music comes from Raine Seville and Beenie Man, and this is for the adventurous lovers. Titled “You Choose“, and produced by Locke City Music Group, we hear Beenie Man dropping lyrics about how he will turn on his lady and give her a most pleasurable experience while Raine sings that they can do it wherever, whenever and however. Not a bad collaboration, Raine has been working on being consistent this year and Beenie Man always manages to get radio play. What do you think of the song? PICS: @RealiOctane x @REPJA “Buss A Blank” T-Shirt Popup Shop At @BaseKingston

On Saturday June 15, clothing company REPJA and Reggae artist I Octane launched their collaboration in the form of a t-shirt at the premiere clothing store “Base Kingston & Belle” located at the Manor Park Plaza. While the event started later than the announced 3 pm, customers and onlookers got to see the new t shirt along with other creations by REPJA owners and designers Andre Allen, Omar Thomas, and Prince Graham. Since their inception in 2007, REPJA has managed to gain recognition all over the world. With celebrities such as Shaggy, Leon from Dormtainment, Beenie Man, and Konshens rocking the gear, their collaboration with I Octane marks as their Introduction to the Jamaican market. The design features a robotic hand forming the “gun fingers” gesture to signify the phrase “Buss A Blank” which is the name of I Octane’s hit. Patrons were also treated to music juggling  by DJ Vise, dancing by DanceJA and BG Dancerz, and performances from Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall and of course I Octane. The t shirt will be available at Base Kingston, REPJA.com, and select venues where I Octane will be performing. The shirt is so cool, I’m sorry I didn’t get one. OLDIES SUNDAY: @KingBeenieMan – Memories (1996)

Earlier this month American Rapper Kanye West’s 6th solo album “Yeezus” leaked, and the internet went crazy. One of the songs that leaked featured a sample from today’s Oldies Sunday artist, Beenie Man. Titled “Memories” and produced by Fat Eyes Records in 1996, Beenie encourages people to stop living in the past, speaks about activities that would happen in the “Wild West“, and a mix of why people would be ashamed of their skin colour and Africa.

After her feud with Deejay Spice, Macka Diamond was determined to make 2013 her year and with the recent release of her single, it seems it could just be that. Last night she joined Winford Williams on the Onstage set. Here she spoke about making 2013 her year after the feud with Spice, a short stint at the hospital for Dehydration recently, and of course her hit “Dye Dye“. She also premiered a follow up to “Dye Dye” titled “Twist Me“. Good interview, good to know that she didn’t lengthen her feud with Spice as they are both great acts. I was unaware of her hospitalization bit I’m glad she’s doing better. The life of an entertainer is very hectic so measures must be taken to be in tip top shape. What do you think of the interview? What did you think of the follow up single?
