The Parris Agency along with KillaVision Productions present, “Tropical Blendz – The Movement“. In part 1 of this series, one of the most influential brands in Reggae/Dancehall music and culture in America is highlighted. With DJs Madout, Apache, Tek, and Legend making up the Tropical Blendz clique, they recap some of their earlier shows which showcased performances by Kranium, Lady Saw, Mavado, I Octane, Zhavea, Serani and many more. Great to get a glimpse of the movements in the US and see their successes in bringing good music and people together. Looking forward to more in the series. It’s a Caribbean and Harlem linkup today on this “Black Friday” with ASAP Ferg, Bunji Garlin repping Trinidad and Spice repping Jamaica. Titled “Jolly” and produced by Corey Maor, we hear the three acts bringing the street dance to the “‘Hood” with ASAP’s raps, Bunji’s Soca chants and Spice’s bad gal Dancehall lyrics. A fun effort as the hook would encourage fist pumping whether you’re a Raver, a “‘Hood fellow” with liquor in hand or a “Bad gal”.
