Today’s new music video comes from Reggae artist I Octane. Titled “Buss A Blank” and directed by The Board, we hear Octane encouraging people to “buss a blank” if they don’t condone certain acts and behaviors. We see scenes where Octane is deejaying while being surrounded by friends and another where he is in a clothing store surrounded by a couple ladies. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from former child singer Paul McFarlane a.k.a. Singing Sweet. Titled “Oh Donna” and produced by Colin Fatta in 1992, this was a cover of Ritchie Valens’ 1959 hit of the same name. Singing Sweet sings about losing his lover named Donna and how he misses her and needs her back in his life.

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Reggae legend Junior Reid with one of his biggest hits. Titled “One Blood” and produced by J.R. Productions in 1989, this was a song that encouraged unity amongst everyone no matter where they live, who they are, their conditions, and their race for they all shared “One Blood“. He also encouraged others to stop the warfare for it caused too much bloodshed.

In recognition of Shaggy’s 20 year anniversary of his “Oh Carolina” hit, I thought I might give you all the original version. Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from The Folkes Brothers, the original artists behind the “Oh Carolina” single. The Folkes Brothers comprised of John, Mico, and Junior Folkes. Produced and released by Prince Buster in 1960, this is a love song where the artists are here urging Carolina to come back into the lead singer’s life after having bouts of sadness and loneliness.
