Remixed is Rico Love’s “Somebody Else“, which features a guest appearance from Dancehall artist, Sean Paul. With a Caribbean feel in the production, Rico and Sean share their feelings on loving someone, but their love interest is busy loving someone else. This goes out to all the mamas, the baby mamas, the grandmothers, the aunties…you get the drift. Did you ever notice every year on Mother’s Day you hear some very familiar songs on the radio? Well I can’t be the only one so today my Oldies Sunday selection focuses on 5 Jamaican songs that never failed in getting airplay on Mother’s Day.

#5 – Richie Stephens x Bounty Killa – Pot Of Gold

With a mix of Richie Stephens’ singing and Bounty’s deejaying, this tribute was recorded for the “Pot Of Gold” label and has been a staple every year since it’s release.

#4 – Anthony Cruz – Mama’s Blessing

Released in 2003/2004 on the “I Swear” Riddim, Anthony Cruz sang about the hardships his mother went through to provide the best life for him. Never fails when it comes getting airplay this time of the year.

Wielding the microphone like a battle axe today is the young don, Wayne J. Titled “Any Day Now (Ben 10)” and produced by Dennis “Greatest” Hamilton, Wayne throws jabs at any and every artist, says artists should drop the gun lyrics and come with more creative lyrics, and puts himself on a pedestal to be the next great Dancehall artist. Big lyrics from the young general, it would be very interesting to hear him clash some of these established artists. What do you think? NEW MUSIC: @IAmChronixx – Play Some Roots

Despite the controversy last week, there’s no denying that Chronixx makes great music and it’s evident in his latest offering. Titled “Play Some Roots” and produced by Silly Walks Discotheque on the Ram Jam Riddim, the Dread and Terrible artist gives us the type of music that’ll get you off your feet and starting skanking. Wonderful production here from Silly Walks as this is a part of a Riddim compilation that features Shaggy, L.U.S.T., Dalton Harris and many more. What do you think of this new Chronixx? NEW VIDEO: @ProdiVOP876 – Never Leave

Recently, Prodigal Son a.k.a. Prodi teased fans with his “April” campaign on his social media profiles. One of the first releases comes in the form of his “Never Leave” music video. Directed by Rayon Smith, Prodi is shown to be on a survival journey where he travels through forests, hunts for his meal in the sea, and giving praises to God as he states has not left his side. The single is off Prodi’s “Perfectly Imperfect From Kingston City” album that will be launched on April 24 at the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Cross Roads, Kingston.
