You couldn’t deny the “Controlla” single in 2016. From what started as a leak has become a single that blew up everywhere! Created by Drake (duh!), this was a single to boost the anticipation of his 4th album, “Views“. Of course when it comes to hit songs, there will be remixes, covers, and clones (lol Tyga). While we won’t get into the other story/controversy with “Controlla” (maybe next time, Mr. Vegas), we’ll recruit 4 very popular versions in a Battle Royale! Up for Battle are Drake (Original), Popcaan (Featured on leak/suggested to be a Remix although edited versions created waves), Royal Blu (Who garnered an underground following for his version), and Tory Lanez (Who has recently revealed his own Canadian/Jamaican Dancehall styled version). @PepsiJamaica Refresh Tour To Heat Up Spanish Town, May Pen!

The streets of Spanish Town and May Pen will come to life this weekend with the sights and sounds of the Pepsi Refresh Tour, the five-week long Islandwide campaign designed by the beverage giant to develop deeper connection with millennials. The 2-hour session, July 15 and 16 for Spanish Town and May Pen respectively, will feature performances by exuberant Dancehall Artiste Tanto Blacks and emerging artistes Eskabel, Lia Caribe, Ishadyz, complete with energetic dancers, spot prizes, and other promotional activities.

The Pepsi Refresh Tour is aimed at giving music fans a taste of Pepsi Refresh Live, a high-energy concert featuring Dancehall heavyweights Busy Signal, Spice, Cham and Bugle, with Sound System Coppershot to keep the vibe alive. The concert is set for August 13 at Pepsi 214, located at 214 Spanish Town Road. Fans can win instantly tickets to the Pepsi Refresh Live concert by purchasing six bottles of 20oz Pepsi from select wholesales and supermarkets in and around the area during the Pepsi Refresh Tour stops and through partnerships with quick service restaurants KFC and Tastee Patties. Fans can also win tickets to summer staple, Reggae Sumfest by buying special Pepsi deals on during the tour stop.

The Pepsi Refresh Tour has rocked Half Way Tree, Papine and Greater Portmore, and will continue in Spanish Town, May Pen, Downtown-Kingston, Ochi Rios, Montego Bay and Savanna-la-Mar, the final leg slated for August 5.

@ArtistClipC Casts His “Rainbow”

London-Born Singjay Clip C has always felt connected to his Jamaican roots and he’s hoping his latest single will find favour with them. The track, Like A Rainbow, is produced Deano Deann and was released last month. The song has an accompanying music video. “The song is being well received. It has a warm summer vibes, especially with the females, due to the obvious Caribbean influence. DJs claim it is a sure summer hit,” he said. “It’s a colourful song highlighting my passion for beautiful women. This song has the potential to be a hit not only for the summer, but for many seasons due to its understandable lyrics.”

Distributed by Zojak World Wide, Like A Rainbow is available for purchases on iTunes and all other digital outlets. Born in United Kingdom, Clip C’s (given name Marcus Spence) grandparents hail from St Elizabeth. “St Elizabeth and Cedar Grove in Manchester are second home,” he said. He got his musical break in 2013 with the release of Chance It (Buzwakk Records). His other singles include Touch You and She Wants Me.

Clip C is also upbeat on a soon-to- be released track entitled Liff Up. “Liff Up is with Stylo G. It is a UK/Dancehall vibe song directed at the ladies of the world with the more voluptuous figures.” The Singjay said he’s intent on making himself a household name. “My aim is to solidify my name as a household brand in the UK and the Dancehall Industry by spreading positive messages of upliftment to the world,” said Clip C.

Shot in Trinidad by Dominic Koo, the two continue to prove that T&T is more than Soca music as they speak on fake associates, their rise to the top, and of course repping their “OverDose” brand.
