.@OriginalKoffee Links Up With @GovanaGenna For “Rapture (Remix)”!

Koffee and Govana have both been having a fantastic 2019. With their careers rising higher than ever, and the masses receiving their respective works wonderfully, the sky is definitely not the limit for them as they can go much further. Today however, after blessing us with the Rapture EP and the title track that has been a favourite for many of us, we get Koffee and Govana on the remix! While Koffee originally turned up the temperature on this, the “Genna Genna” applies his flow on the Lasanna Harris production like the lyrical Doctor he is. While I was hoping for some fresh lyrics from Koffee for the remix, the Spanish Town natives did their thing with this one. Video on the way too! Here’s to more Benzes, hit songs, and remixes (hint hint). Everybody get capture while the lyrics gi dem lockjaw!

The Loving Keeps @_MizzLee_ “Hooked” On O.D. Assisted Debut Single!

The summer is near, and you know a lot of love will be in the air then. For those who have plans to be “cuffed“, let Recording Artist Nyla Lee’s debut single, “Hooked” be the soundtrack! Produced by S.Q.R. Studios and featuring Recording Artist O.D., the duo share bits on why they stay addicted to the one they’re with. They also showcase their own sounds which makes the track an enjoyable listen (and one that’ll have you dancing!).

When asked about the song and its creative process, Nyla had this to say, “Have you ever been high off someone? Can’t get enough of that person? The song “Hooked” depicts that feeling. It’s a chill summer vibe song that I wrote some time ago. I decided to link up with O.D. in the studio as he has worked on some great songs before, and he contributed a sick verse. When I linked up with Producer UEL Genesis of S.Q.R Studios about a beat, he proceeded to build a riddim on the spot and complimented the vibe I was going for. Recorded it a couple weeks after, and now it’s out! I hope you all enjoy my very first single.

The Montego Bay based Singer hopes to embark on a fruitful music career, and will be hitting the streets near you with her debut single. Something for the lovers! Check out the track below, and share with a friend. Show us some love/follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @13thStreetPromo.

Rosh Rebel Shows Off Some “Real Love” In New Single!

Recording Artist Rosh Rebel has been singing her way into the hearts of many in recent months. One of the Artists you should be paying attention to, the Mobay based Singer is aiming to expand her reach. While she gave lovers something to stay cozy with in February, the Kali Grn assisted “Incense & Scented Candles“, she follows up with her solo offering, a story of love called “Real Love“!

Produced by Verley Reid for IllTraxx Records, Rosh Rebel shares how her and her partner possess that real love. The song takes us through the stages of their relationship starting from the crush days, to going through years together and still keeping it strong. The single is for all the budding and established relationships out there, may they see many moments together. With her blend of Dancehall, Reggae, Jazz, and Pop styles, Rosh has been blessing listeners and fellow Artists with her unique sound (including one of our favourites, “Rude). Later this year however, she looks forward to giving us a body of work in the form of an EP titled, “ROSH“. Until then, check out the track below, and share with a friend. Have you been watching any films lately? If so, have you seen the new Netflix movie, “See You Yesterday“? Directed by Stefon Bristol and produced by Spike Lee, the movie finds two best friends, CJ and Sebastian, (Eden Duncan-Smith and Dante Crichlow respectively) building Time Machines in an effort to reverse the unjustly death of CJ’s brother. While the Film aims to give you a lil Sci Fi fun, you might hear some familiar music in it. As a part of the Film’s soundtrack, the late Tenor Saw’s 1985 hit, “Ring The Alarm“, and Dawn Penn’s 1994 hit, “You Don’t Love Me (No No No)” were featured! “Ring The Alarm” was featured on the “Stalag Riddim” and released through Winston Riley’s Techniques label while “You Don’t Love Me” was a Dancehall remake of Dawn Penn’s 1967 single.

The soundtrack choices wouldn’t be the first time a Spike Lee production featured Caribbean music as his Netflix series “She’s Gotta Have It” featured Dancehall, Reggae, and Soca music (more on that here). “See You Yesterday” is now playing on Netflix, but you can check out the Trailer below and share with a friend. OLDIES SUNDAY: White Mice – True Love (1987)

In recognition of May being “Child’s Month“, Oldies Sunday will be highlighting a few child stars who made some noise in music. Today we go back to the 80’s with Teenage Recording Artist White Mice with his single, “True Love“! Produced by Junior Delgado on the Far East Riddim and released through Incredible Music in 1987, White Mice shares his testimony that Jah always comes through for him, and blesses him. The single was later featured on Mice’s debut album of the same name.

White Mice started his career in his birth Parish of St. James, but moved to Kingston for better opportunities. He was a member of the late Sugar Minott’sYouthman Promotions” camp, and with the help of his Brother Courtney Crichton, he found success with “True Love“. Since the song’s release, he has went on to release more music, and made the move to Europe to further his ambitions as he became a Sound System owner there.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Little Kirk – What’s Love Got To Do (1984)

In recognition of May being “Child’s Month“, Oldies Sunday will be highlighting a few child stars who made some noise in music. Today we go back to the 80’s with Recording Artist Little Kirk and his cover of the Tina Turner classic, “What’s Love Got To Do“! Produced by Winston Riley on the Stalag Riddim, this was released in 1984 and featured on the LP, “Original Stalag 17, 18, & 19“. Having gotten his start through the Sound systems in his early teens, Little Kirk could be found covering popular tracks with a dose of his distinct sound and delivery.

Since the release of “What’s Love Got To Do”, Little Kirk has went on to release numerous singles and albums, and became one of the main voices at the Patrick Roberts owned “Shocking Vibes” label along with his younger brother, Beenie Man. In recent years however, he has switched to releasing Gospel Music but still performs many of his previous singles when he’s on tour.
