Barrington Levy’s “Broader Than Broadway” Featured In New “The Harder They Fall” Trailer

The minute you start watching this trailer for the upcoming Netflix Film, “The Harder They Fall“, you’ll hear that easily recognizable “Here I come” line from the legendary Barrington Levy. Once again, Jamaican music has popped up in something that we know many are going to love. Black Cowboys are the order of the day in this Jeymes Samuel directed Film starring Regina King, Delroy Lindo, Idris Elba, Jonathon Majors, and many more!

As previously mentioned, music from Barrington Levy was featured in the form of a remixed version of his 1985 classic, “Broader Than Broadway” a.k.a. “Here I Come“. Produced by Paul “Jah Screw” Love, the single was released through the Thunderbolt Label, and is one of Levy’s biggest hits to date. Also featured in the trailer for “The Harder They Fall” (which borrows a lyric from another Jamaican Icon, Jimmy Cliff from his 1972 classic, “The Harder They Come), is Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti’s 1971 track, “Let’s Start” featuring Ginger Baker. Mount up when “The Harder They Fall” is released in Fall/Autumn 2021! Shoodilley-waddliley-diddley-diddley woh-oh-oh

Summer Is Here As Jimmy Cliff & Bunny Wailer Classics Get Featured In New @CoronaExtraUSA Ads!

Beer and Reggae seem to go hand in hand, do they? Recently, the Mexican Beer Brand Corona unleashed another Summer campaign which includes limited edition Beer cans. In the new Commercials, which highlights Sun, Sea, Fun, and Beer, Reggae Artist Jimmy Cliff’s 1972 classic, “You Can Get It If You Really Want (Get It Here)“, and Bunny Wailer’s “Cool Runnings” are provided as the theme songs. “You Can Get It If You Really Want” was released by Island Records and featured on the soundtrack to the cult classic “The Harder They Come (Get It Here)“. It was originally sung by the late Desmond Dekker in 1970 but Cliff recorded his own version for the Film. The single is no stranger to being used commercially as it was featured in “Speed 2: Cruise Control (Rent/Watch Here)“, and was used during election times in Nicaragua and Britain. Bunny Wailer’s single was released in 1981 through the Solomonic Label and was featured on his 8th Studio Album, “Rock ‘n’ Groove“. An original member of “The Wailers” along with the late Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, “Jah B” (affectionately called) is also a 3 time Grammy winner and is considered one of the “Gatekeepers” of Reggae music.

Corona used the late Hopeton Lewis’ single “Take It Easy” in their previous campaign. Check out the new ads below.

NEW VIDEO: @OnstageTV Interviews @PaulCampbellJA x @TheMykalFax

Onstage

With the premiere of the “Jamaican Mafia” hitting screens this month, actors Paul Campbell and Mykal Fax stepped on Onstage to speak on the film and more with Winford Williams. Here the actors spoke about the film, their roles in the making of the film, Mykal’s background and previous work in film, Paul’s achievements in film, thoughts on Jamaican movies with violent themes being released, preparing for their roles and more. With Jamaican films like “Shottas“, “The Harder They Come” and “Dancehall Queen” being very successful worldwide, I do hope “Jamaican Mafia” is the next film to make a mark in the record books. Check out the interview and trailer below and share your thoughts in the comments section.
