Put down your Rollies and Apple Watches, it’s all about the iced out Patek Philippe today. While he has been making some noise in 2018, the Vincy/Brooklyn Recording Artist J Kinggz starts off 2019 with the new video for his buzzing single, “Patek“! Directed by Director EAD/Ingenious Genies, we find the cops keeping tabs on the Artist as he goes about his day reading the papers, staying fresh in designer fits, and getting money. Eventually they make the bold move of invading his space, but end up being on the receiving end of J Kinggz’s sharing of the wealth. The single was released on January 6, 2018, and was featured on Kinggz’s “30 Days EP (The Life Changing Project)” which was released last November. Tell your Jeweler to put the AP down, get yourself a bust down Patek and stay shining on the haters. Be on the look out for more releases this year, including his recent collaboration with Dancehall Artist Flexxx on “Stack This Money” (Prod. by HIRATA). 2019 is here, and Popcaan is still on the grind. With his signing to Drake’s OVO Sound finally a reality, Poppy is ensuring that the fans are fed with nothing but great work. Fresh off his successful Unruly Fest event, he gets his year rolling with the video for his hugely popular single, “Silence“. Directed by Willo Perron and shot in Jamaica, Popcaan gets the Unruly Family around and make moves from the neighbourhood to the streets as he shares his various messages. We see cameos from only the members of Unruly Entertainment, but from Munga Honorable and Dre Island. Great to see Popcaan’s progress from so far, from the Prefect to the Unruly Boss! R.I.P. The 2000s gave us some awesome Dancehall music, don’t you agree? Today’s Oldies Sunday selections brings some energy from that era courtesy of Busy Signal! Today we feature his breakout hit, “Step Out“! Produced by Equiknoxx Music on the “Step Out Riddim“, this was released in 2005 and had eyes and ears focused on Busy as he brought a unique sound to the game.

The song proved to be successful as it helped to propel the Deejay onto the forefront of the Dancehall scene. The success didn’t come without controversy however as various Producers were credited to producing the track. In the end, the true Producers were given the proper recognition, and the track went on to be featured on many compilations including Busy Signal’s 2006 debut album, “Step Out“. Since “Step Out”, Busy has went on to release many more hit singles and projects. Though he was in trouble with the law and found himself in the midst of various feuds, Busy’s career went on to flourish to this day.

It has been a splendid year for Popcaan. From releasing his sophomore album, killing it with the singles, to sold out shows and an unforgettable Unruly Fest, the icing on the cake was him finally signing to Drake’s OVO Sound. While we know 2019 will be crazier for him, he had to give us one more thing to keep the energy going. While his “Forever” album gave us some hits, folks have been feeling his “Dun Rich” single with Nigerian star Davido. Today, we get the official music video! Shot in Lagos, Nigeria, not only are the Artists fresh to death and doing their thing here, but some powerful, talented, and beautiful women were featured here and blessed us with their presence.
