.@UncleSego & Buju Banton’s “Hello” Featured In @Apple’s New Airpods 5 Reveal

When good music connects, it connects at the right time. This past July, Jazz Fusion Recording Artist Masego released his collaboration with the legendary Buju Banton called, “Hello“. The single has been making its rounds, and giving listeners a charge thanks to its electrifying sounds, and the great energy between the Artists. The world has been loving it so much, that it caught the attention of Tech giant Apple, who sought to use it for a new project.

Just minutes ago, Apple unveiled a number of new devices as a part of their September event. The devices, which include new iPhones, Apple Watches, and Airpods, are set to become new toys for the users. The Airpods, which are now in their 5th iteration, were revealed by newly-appointed CEO John Ternus, and were done so in style thanks to Masego and Buju Banton’s “Hello” being a part of the soundtrack. Produced by Sego along with Kojo Asamoah, Jordan Elgie, and Joshua Bryant and sampled “Dey Know” by the late Rapper Shawty Lo, “Hello” is featured on the new album, “Fix Your Face“. Masego and Buju Banton join Tessellated, who had his I Learnt Some Jazz Today” featured in the award-winning commercial for the Airpods 2nd Generation in 2019. The 3 Artists would be the only Jamaicans to do so. The Airpods 5th Generation are now available for preorder.

Skeng Focuses On What Matters In “Man Of Prayer”

Dancehall Artist Skeng is in a place that he never imagined maybe a decade ago. He is a success story where he can make music, they become hits, and he is given the opportunity to earn handsomely from them, and perform his hits in various parts of the world. He believes the success comes from not only his hard work, but from a divine place. He talks about it in, “Man Of Prayer“.

Produced by Ojay On The Beat for Lagikz Supreme Music, Skeng gives thanks for his blessings, and wants to do more to take care of who and what matters to him in, “Man Of Prayer”. It’s not just about material wealth, it’s about providing a better life and opportunities for those around him, as he knows how hard life was for many of them. The track is accompanied by a Music Video directed by Lagikz Supreme, and we see the Deejay hanging out with friends, and we even see him putting together songs in the Studio. As Skeng continues to elevate his career, we know his people will never be short of anything. A just the blessings.

.@OriginalKoffee Ends Her Summer With A Party “OVA SO”

If you partied hard this Summer, kudos to you, but we believed Recording Artist Original Koffee partied the hardest thanks to the release of a number of singles over these past few weeks. While in a party mood, she brought the vibe to Jamaica, and various parts of the world, and the vibe was contagious. Closing off the season, she comes through with the new single, “OVA SO“.

Produced by Cadenza with a Reggie Stepper sample, Original Koffee is here for a good time with “OVA SO”. While the previous singles sparked some fun vibes, the new release aims to keep the energy going, and be a welcomed closer for some. The Summer season may be over, but album season is on the way, and long overdue for the Artist. Stay tuned for another serving of Koffee.

Najeeriii Has His Eyes On The Prize For “SISU” Album

Success is something we all attain for. No matter what industry or job we’re in, we all want our rewards, earnings, and accolades. Dancehall Artist Najeeriii had this in mind ever since he decided to step into the music scene. From a Teenager writing lyrics in class, to having hit singles, to performing on various stages, he has accomplished what many are working towards. He hasn’t reached his ultimate goal yet, but he’s getting there. With his sophomore album “SISU“, he’s saying that success for him is simply unavoidable.

Featuring 11 tracks, Najeeriii is on a mission for his gold with his 2nd album, “SISU”. He gained respect for his debut album “Book Of Bob“, and now he wants everything that’s deserving to him. The album features aspirations of generational wealth, the spoils of his work and hustle, music for the ladies, and something for the streets to keep in rotation. The Deejay looks to earn a bigger breakout this time around, catapulting his name to even more places. Released through Hacakdat Recordings/Senegal Productions/Hapilos Records, production on the new album includes the likes of Rahim McDaniel, Romarei Ashley, Jordon Loud, Stephan Mills and more, and he shares the stage with ffawty this time around. From his breakout with “Panton“, Najeeriii has come a long way, but his story is not over. Time to watch him make the best moves for success.

OLDIES SUNDAY: Ernest Wilson – Money Worries (1967)

We’re in the month of September, and like other months, the bills are here. In the Caribbean, September starts the new school year, and everything from the tuition to the school supplies are pricey. Some parents have been saving for most of the year, and still come up short. No matter the year or decade, there has been a song about cost of living, and today’s “Oldies Sunday” selection covers one of them. Today, we go back in time to check out Ernest Wilson’sMoney Worries“.

Produced by “Sir Coxsone” Dodd and released through Studio One in 1967, Ernest Wilson cries at the rising costs of everything in, “Money Worries”. He shares how the everyday Man is affected as they work hard, only to receive so little in the end. He also sheds light on his family life as even putting gas in the car puts a major dent in the household funds. “Money Worries” quickly became a hit for Wilson, and spawned a number of remixes over the years, with other Producers getting involved. The relatable lyrics were true then, and still holds weight today.

Since the release of “Money Worries”, Ernest Wilson continued to release music. His music releases were short-lived, and he would work as an Aviation Supervisor at the Norman Manley International Airport. He was the founding member of The Clarendonians with Peter Austin, and he introduced a young Freddie McGregor (who was sometimes a member, and was a part of a duo with Wilson) to Coxsone Dodd, and the rest is history. Ernest Wilson passed away in 2021, but many still remember his numerous releases, including “Money Worries”.

THANK YOU ERNEST WILSON FOR THIS TRACK!
