@OfficialWayneJ Becomes Ambassador For Alligator Head Foundation, Promotes New Single.

Teenage Recording Artist Wayne J was recently recruited by Portland based Alligator Head Foundation to be their Youth Ambassador to raise environmental awareness, increase Ocean conservation, and promote the decrease in the usage of single use plastic products. Wayne’s involvement kicked off with the release of the single and music video for “Plastic Bottles”. Produced by Diztroy and AppleJuiceKid, Wayne J spreads the message of conservation as the Foundation aims to develop a Fish Sanctuary and rehabilitate the local communities that make fishing their source of income and sustenance.

About Alligator Head Foundation

Alligator Head Foundation supports the conservation of coastal resources with passion and the rehabilitation of local communities that depend on fishing as a livelihood. We deliver research, education, outreach and training to empower communities to adopt the tools needed to build a more sustainable relationship with their ocean.

Initiative Background

The AHF has partnered with the Wayne J camp to raise environmental awareness, increase ocean conservation and promote the reduction in the use of single use plastics through the promotion of the Wayne J “Plastic Bottles” song. We are developing creative and exciting public education programs to encourage the proper disposal of solid waste; working with local Schools, Colleges and Communities to change behaviour and incite local action. Our efforts include beach clean-ups, presentations and Incentive-driven campaigns to encourage best practice and environmental stewardship. We are also working with Parley for the Oceans, and Adidas to reuse ocean plastics in new and innovative ways through Footwear, Apparel, and Sports Kits.

@GrungGaadZilla: The Modern Day “Dancehall Daddy”!

In this post we pay tribute to the 5 Star General because…we have to give people flowers while they can still smell them. Bless up Bounty!

Words by KingDavidJWill x SwadeDaVillain

Rodney Price, more popularly known as Bounty Killa, could be easily called the “Godfather of Dancehall” or the “The Modern Day Dancehall Daddy” based on his musical family tree. His Alliance Music Group started out of Killa’s love for music, which in return gave some of the best Dancehall acts the world has ever seen, namely Busy Signal, Wayne Marshall, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Kiprich, Bling Dawg, and Aidonia. Outside of his group however, he also introduced us to many others including Spice, Twin of Twins, Cham, and Elephant Man (he was first discovered with his “Scare Dem Crew” members in the mid 90s). In 2011 Bounty made another addition by forming the Alliance Next Generation (A.N.G.) which gave us Iyara, Patexx, Marlon Binns, Kalado, Bridgez, Nymron, Assailant, K-Queens, Prince Pin, Dadda, Venon, Askel, Boom Steppa, 300 and many others. Bounty also lent his ear to Production labels like Pay Day Music, Echo One Productions, and DASECA Music (which is responsible for acts like Serani, Bugle, Dexta Daps, and Raine Seville). The list of names however, continues to grow.

@NRSCJamaica Launches New Motorcycle Safety Workshop Series!

On Sunday February 5, the National Road Safety Council soft launched their “Back To Basics Motorcycle Safety Workshop” series. With sponsorship from the National Health Fund, the event was held at The Worthington, Spanish Court Hotel. With so many many road fatalities involving Motorcyclists in recent times, the event’s theme came in the form of the hashtag/tagline “Protect Motorcyclists“/ #ProtectMotorcyclists. During the event 13th Street Promotions spoke with Clive McDonald, Chief Motor Vehicle Inspector at the Island Traffic Authority, and Andre Richards of Shango Bikers to get more information about the event and on how Motorcyclists can be safer on our roads.

Creating an International appeal through the use of the social Inter web, the 13th Street Promo team took great pleasure in sitting and working with Royal Blu (Formerly “BluKid”) as one of its most incredible Interviews to date. After creating the right setting with Blvk H3ro and Leno Banton, it was only natural that we moved directly ahead to work directly with one of Jamaica’s budding prodigies. Let’s Begin…

13thStreetPromotions: Where does your talent come from? It resonates well with fans from what we’ve observed.

TheRoyalBlu: I’m the only one in my family that does music. The only one that I know of. So I’d like to believe that my talent is a direct gift from God. I’m just blessed to have people truly appreciate what I do.

13thSP: Have you gone through any voice training as an artiste?

TheRB:  Yeah, I’ve done voice training up at Avant Acadamy of Music. Big up to Andrew Dixon for being my instructor. Although I skipped their end of year concert that they wanted me to perform at (haha). But yeah, apart from that, I just do my own personal warm-ups and stuff when I can.

The Sky’s The Limit For @MoshanMusic As New Video Release Nears!

Dancehall Singjay Moshan, born Ryan Housen, has been receiving a lot of love recently for his single,”Bad Gal”, and is set to release a Music Video in the coming days!

Produced by Troyton Music on the “Dancehall Bully Riddim”, Moshan recalls working on a concept for the single. Given that it was a hardcore Riddim, he noticed the other songs were catered to the male demographic so he sought out to represent for the ladies. “Bad Gal” was made for the women who were always on point with their beauty, but when it came down to being tough and defending themselves, they’re always ready. The video for “Bad Gal” was directed by Dameon Gayle of Warrior Films and is set to premiere in a few days. The single is currently distributed by 21st Hapilos and is available on iTunes.

Moshan started his music career in 2012 with Down Sound Records, and has since performed on events such as GT Extravaganza, Summer Fest, and Kingston Music Week. He has also recorded with Mr. Easy, Danielle D.I., MBR Records, and is currently managed by Troyton Hinds of Troyton Music. Moshan has also seen success with the singles “Social Media”, and “Jealousy”. When asked about his future in music, he is quoted saying, “The sky is the limit!”.
