NEW MUSIC: @BusySignal_Turf – Whatsapp

proxy

Busy Signal is all about the social media “linkage” in his latest tune. Titled “Whatsapp“, this borrows the instrumental from Byron Lee & The Dragonaires’Tiney Winey” and Busy Signal speaks on his escapades with the ladies through the various social networks that he uses. A hot single here as I heard it numerous times before its release. A perfect song to add to your Dancehall and Soca playlists. R.I.P. Byron Lee. NEW MUSIC: @DavianahMusic – Music Madness

Davianah

Aiming to break out of the monotony today is singer Davianah with her latest single. Titled “Music Madness” and produced by Mark “Genaral” Thompson for Thompson House Music, Davianah gets at artists who fail to bring more positive subject matter to their audience and break out of the continuous stream of sexually charged lyrics being played on the airwaves. She also warns that the youths are listening to them and they are not setting a great example for them to follow. Davianah delivers on this one as this is a song you should keenly listen to. While it is true many of us listen and enjoy the sexually charged lyrics, at times we must make room for more positive lyrics and guide the youth along the way. Don’t turn the music to madness. NEW MUSIC: @TheTherapistSOL – Ego (Prod. By @KingBiggsSOL)

Ego

After announcing last week that he’s releasing a full project titled “9 More Dreams“, Sons Of Liberty’s The Therapist released the first single tonight. Titled “Ego” and produced by King Biggs, Therapist speaks on the part ego plays when he’s pursuing and dealing with females. Biggs’ production here reminds me a little of The Neptunes’ own but Therapist handles his own on this and makes it a fun a first single. Expect a visual featuring party patrons dancing in slow mo while The Therapist walks through them and rapping (right?). What do you think? 9 More Dreams drops on February 28. Check out the track below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Mixtape Movements: @ArkHouseMusic Presents: @Mr_K_Green a.k.a Sosa – Made In America

Made In America Cover

Armed with gritty lyrics and top production is Brooklyn bred Producer/MC Sosa with his new project, “Made In America“. Released through the newly formed ArkHouse Music Group, this is described as a conceptual album boasting 8 tracks filled with dope lyrics described as “90s Boom Bap mixed with Coke Rap”, and awesome sampled production that reveals 90’s Hip Hop influences. If you’re a fan of that “First Coast” movement and none of that filler music, this is for you. Honestly, I’m waiting to hear Mobb Deep, Kool G Rap, RseenalFive Steez and even AZ jumping on some of these tracks. Check out the project below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Errol Dunkley "Black Cinderella" for 13thStreetPromotions.com

OLDIES SUNDAY: Errol Dunkley – Black Cinderella (1972)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Reggae Musician, Errol Dunkley. Titled “Black Cinderella“, this was produced by Jimmy Rodway for Fe Me Time Records in 1972. Errol considered it a tribute to hard working black women, but it sounded more like a love song than the aforementioned idea. The creation for this came about when Jimmy introduced Errol to one of his poems of the same name. After some adjustments, Errol recorded the single and it immediately became a hit in a time of Black Empowerment.
