Blak Ryno Speaks About The Ways Of “Mankind” On New Single

Dancehall Artist Blak Ryno deserves his flowers. Since the mid 2000s, he has made significant contributions to the Portmore Empire/Gaza brand with a number of hit singles, and a presence that inspired many. Though no longer a part of the camp, he kept himself afloat with singles and live shows over the years, and secured a fanbase that continues to support his every move. He’s solid with the lyrics, and he gives the people more to think about with the new track, “Mankind”.

Produced by Kahtion Beatz and released through Steamatic Records, Blak Ryno observes the ways of people in the new “Mankind” single. He shares experiences, and listeners can relate to the lyrics as we’ve all dealt with people who didn’t have good intentions. For every girl song, or something for the streets, Ryno ensured he had a track that shared life lessons, motivation, and prompted listeners to be more aware of the challenges one will experience in life. His name has been brought up in a number of conversations in the past few weeks, let’s see what else he has in store for the rest of the year.

.@1RealMoulaUE Returns To Rap With “Floormats”

The Hip Hop culture continues to have some life in Jamaica, with many contributors and new styles. One contributor returns to the fold, and that is Montego Bay-based Rapper MoulaUE. Having taken time off for family and life outside of the Studio, he looks to make a mark in the 2020s, and show that he still has what it takes. He concluded his hiatus with the track, “Floormats“.

Produced by Limitless Joe, MoulaUE proves that despite taking a leave of absence, his skillset hasn’t left in “Floormats”. The “Mobay Mayor” gives a nod to some of his peers, and gives listeners a dose of what has been missing for a while. During his absence there was a rise in the Trap Dancehall movement, and we believe he can still secure a place in the scene as Montego Bay is home to many of the stars of the movement. The bars are still solid, and he can command any production that’s sent his way. We hope he maintains the consistency this time around. MoulaUE returns to Rap.

OLDIES SUNDAY: @IvyQueenDiva – Quiero Bailar (2003)

September 15 marks the start of “Hispanic Heritage Month” in the United States. The month recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans from entertainment, to sports, to pop culture. Today on Oldies Sunday, we highlight one of those contributors. Her name is Ivy Queen, known as the “Queen Of Reggaeton” who hails from Puerto Rico, and her track is called, “Quiero Bailar (I Want To Dance)“.

Produced by Iván Joy and Jeremy Harding and released through Universal Music Latino in 2003, Ivy Queen made a powerful move with “Quiero Bailar”. The song speaks of a Woman who dances with a Man, but he misinterprets her sensual moves as an invitation to sleep with her. She emphasizes that that isn’t the case, and she shouldn’t be looked on as a promiscuous Woman. She wants to have fun, and not be added to a Man’s list or roster. “Quiero Bailar” sampled Harding’s “Liquid Riddim“, which was released in 2001, and borrows a cadence from Missy Elliott’s “All N My Grill” from 1999 (which was also borrowed by Dancehall Artist Chino, who has a song called “Hold Yuh Man” on the Liquid Riddim). The Reggaeton release was first featured on the Reggaeton Compilations “The Majestic 2“, and “Kilates“, and enjoyed success on those projects before being included in the Platinum Edition of Ivy’s “Diva” album, which was released in 2004.

“Quiero Baliar” enjoyed success as it became the first Spanish-language track to go #1 on Miami’s WPOW Rhythmic Top 40 chart, scored Billboard chart placements, and became an anthem for Women’s Empowerment. “Quiero Bailar” was covered by Puerto Rican Rapper Dlaklle, Recording artist Abaya, Boricua Boys, was sampled by Ecuadorian Singer Sophy Mell, and Chilean Singer Paloma Mami, was remixed with Reggaeton Artist Karol G, and was re-recorded in 2019 with a Female-led team of Engineers in partnership with Spotify, and released on International Women’s Day.

Since the release of “Quiero Bailar”, Ivy Queen went on to release more music to much success, and is still active. She has influenced a number of Artists, and has made major contributions to Reggaeton, and the Hispanic American culture. “Quiero Bailar” remains one of her most recognized tracks.

450 Conquers Canada With Sold-Out Performance

Live show performances are a major part of a Recording Artist’s career, and many Artists have been giving their all to the stage locally, and Internationally for decades. Dancehall Artist 450 has been in a class by himself for a number of years, and recently he made the stage a top priority with a sold-out performance as a part of his “450 Live” series in Canada.

A significant milestone was achieved in Toronto, Canada on Saturday, September 7, as the “450 Live Toronto Edition” was an event that many won’t forget. Spearheaded by Tru Ambassador Ent., the management and promotional entity behind 450, the Rebel Nightclub on 11 Polson Street was filled to capacity with overwhelming support of the Dancehall Artist. Tickets for the highly-anticipated event sold out shortly after being announced in July, further solidifying 450’s popularity, and the necessary roles that Tru Ambassador Ent. handled behind the scenes to ensure success. As a thank you to the fans, 450 took them through a stand-out experience that you had to be there to be a part of, delivering hits, having a commanding presence throughout the event’s entire duration, and the patrons gave back tremendous support through enjoying every minute, and demanding for more.

“The people really wanted this 450 performance,” shared Jahvy, 450’s Manager. “There was blocked traffic leading up to the venue, and the love that he got from the fans at the show, it’s nothing short of a blessing. 450 gave it his all, and I’m proud of the Artist he has become. We’re thankful for the success of this event, and we look forward to doing it again. Nuff love Toronto!”

450 has been added to the list of high profile names which include 50 Cent, Trey Songz, Burna Boy, T-Pain, Sean Paul, and Lil Jon who have made an indelible mark at the venue, and he aims to bring the same energy and more to future events. He is currently promoting the single, “Addicted”, which has been doing well since its release in August.
