With Reggae and Dancehall Music being infused in various genres over the years, many artists and producers have seen it as a way to create new and fantastic sounds that will bring people together to enjoy it. With their own genre termed “RaggaTronic“, a mix of Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, EDM, Tropical Bass, and Moombahton comes the Brooklyn collective named We Chief with their new single. Titled “Gyals From Brooklyn” and features Da Professor, this is an electrifying track that encourages listeners to get their bodies moving to the beats, breaking speakers, disturbing quiet neighbourhoods, and having fun to this blend of genres. this sounds like a summer hit and great artwork by Flyland Designs as well. On this morning’s “Ebro In The AM” show on Hot 97, Dancehall artist Tifa was a featured guest. Here she spoke on her music, being dubbed “Queen of the Dancehall“, her influences, being a part of the “On The Reggae Tip” event, wanting to be one of the top Dancehall artists making it big internationally, maintaining a level of professionalism in her career, and proving many wrong. Tifa also handled her own on the microphone where she performed “Back It Up” and other songs. I liked this interview and Tifa handled herself well and represented Jamaica well. Tifa’s been on a good run as of late with the new record deal, Headphones and her singles so she has a right to wear the crown.
