OLDIES SUNDAY: @PeterLloydWorld – Dancehall Queen (1991)

Today’s Oldies Sunday selection comes from Singer/Actor/Producer/Former Media Personality, Peter Lloyd! Titled “Dancehall Queen“, this was produced by Handel Tucker, and released through InPhyniti Records in 1991. In the song, Lloyd gets into storytelling mode where he speaks about attending a street dance when he met a young lady who seemed to stand out from the rest. He dubbed her a “Dancehall Queen” and went into conversation with her professing his interest in her. The single was also featured on his 1999 debut Album, “Transitions“.

@JaneMacgizmo Is In Her Element In Her Visual For “Too Late”!

She has been making waves with her single, “Too Late” recently, but Recording Artist Jane Macgizmo turns it up a notch with the Music Video! Directed by Tricia Bent and shot at the Villas Sur Mer in Negril, the visual features some beautiful shots with the Singer along with a short performance by Dancers Tashnie Hinds, Rochelle Kamicka, Courtney Payne, and Amanyea Stines (who also handled the Choreography duties). With scenes looking like Jane is being featured in a Commercial for a top of the line Perfume, you can’t help but re watching. With Jane Macgizmo’s music being featured in TV Shows, and making appearances all over Jamaica, 2018 better gets ready for wave of new projects. Check out the video below.

A project that has been in the making for quite some time, the duo of Jamaican Recording Artist Royal Blu, and German Producer Tim Foresta finally release the “sinG with God EP“! Featuring 5 tracks, Blu brings the melodies and witty lyrics, while Foresta provides some wonderful Production to compliment them. Tagging along for the ride are Recording Artists Runkus (“sinG with God“) and Lila Ike (“Believe“) as they contribute fuel for the fiery project. Adding to the experience is Taj Francis as he provided the amazing Artwork for the project and the title track. Royal Blu has been having a great year so far, dropping an EP is the icing on that cake. The EP is available on all your favourite digital retailers/streaming services. Montego Bay has been holding their own in the Music scene in recent times. From Hip Hop acts like Moula UE, Trapic$ The Troop, Slim I.D., Daley, to Dancehall/Reggae acts like Tommy Lee Sparta, Teejay, and Jeeby, their eastern counterparts should pay attention. Rapper Karma Crew however, has been staying busy with his own share of releases this year, and recently he kept at it with a new video titled, “Lyrical Majesty“. Shot/Directed by 876 Media Ent., Karma keeps the visual simple, but stays on fire when it comes to the bars! With plans to drop a new project in 2018, and possible treats for the Christmas season, salute that man and the music he’s bringing to you. Check out the video below.

Usain Bolt’s fame has risen to levels we can’t imagine, and life after track looks to be even more fun. Recently he made an appearance on the premiere episode of “Complex On Fuse” and did some Sneaker shopping in Los Angeles with Sneaker aficionado, Joe La Puma. During their time, Bolt spoke on growing up in Jamaica, life after Track, hanging with Michael Jordan, giving back to his High School, Sneakers,and working with Puma including signature shoes. Bolt copped a few Pumas for the road, were there any you liked? What would you have purchased? Bolt continues to shine even when he’s not going for the Gold. Check out the video below.
