OLDIES SUNDAY: Locksley Gichie & The Zion Boys – Teach The Children (1974)

In recognition of May being Child’s Month, our Oldies Sunday selection comes from Locksley Gichie of the UK band The Cimarons along with The Zion Boys. Titled “Teach The Children“, this was produced by Kush and released through Harry J Records in 1974. The song calls for listeners to raise children in the right ways, know GOD, teach them how to be creative and make their world a better place, and help them to spread peace and love into the world.

The single was released on vinyl as a B-side with the main track being “I’m Leaving It Up To You” by Winston Reid & The Zion Boys. Since then, Locksley continued his role as Guitarist for The Cimarons over the years. Gichie has also lent his skills to various Artists including Los Aggrotones.

Recording Artist Blvk H3ro is a Connoisseur of the “Green Gold“, and to further seal this he released his highly anticipated music video for “Kush & Schweppes“. Directed by Chan X and shot in Waterhouse, St. Andrew, H3ro starts off his day by gathering a dose of his “Medicine” then joining his friends who include The Grei Show, Dennis “Greatest”, and Lila Ike for a meeting of the minds and herbs. Witness numerous spliffs burn away while the music plays, Blvk H3ro frolicking through the community and spreading the joy that the herb has brought to him, and enjoy the fusion of Dancehall, Reggae, and Trap music soundtrack provided. Where is the Kush man, where is the dealer? Tommy Lee Sparta debuts his latest video and he needs his vice. Titled “Numb“, this was executive produced by Mylana Malsert Celle and shot by Anthony Godio in France. Accompanied by the NSA Human Dance crew, the Sparta boss speaks on the need for a smoke to escape his lows and calls on the weed man. Tommy Lee has been very consistent lately and he continues to surprise me with the quality of his music videos and the locations he chose to get them done. International Sparta King.
